I found food fads spark huge rise in animal testing this artical made me quite angry.

Does anyone else find it not only overwhelming but also quite depressing that you can't seem to go to your normal shops, buy normal things with a normal budget without supporting animal testing and sweat shop labour and battery farming and unfair trade and the list goes on?

yes.
but maybe we were just kidding ourselves ever to believe that we could do anything without effort.

I know it's terrible, but at least you can buy a few things locally, fruit & veg, organic eggs etc. and maybe for beauty/shampoos etc the Body Shop don't have anything tested on animals AFAIK.

it seems no matter how hard you try you'll always have to end up using a product that is supporting something you don't agree with, like if you need medicine or something. and of course buying clothes. I think you can buy vegan clothes in the Animal Aid catalogues etc. I don't suppose they are made in sweat shops either.....

It would be interesting to see what the Home Office figures are for animal testing on drugs and cosmetics. I bet these numbers pale into comparison. I think it's a bit of a non-story really.
