"Early on in the play, five year old Molly Johnson announces ?Lo, there is a great star in the sky, which is easily explained by rational and scientific means and certainly does not prove the existence of some sort of supernatural diety??"

I am not strongly religious, but I actually find that offensive. If you are atheist, why tell the story of Jesus at all?

DumbledoreWithBoughsOfHolly · 12/12/2007 09:53

Oh is it a piss-take?

Sorry, I thought it was for real.

Dumbeldore ... really? The line about shephards eating magic mushrooms didn't give you a clue

Very funny

RosaLuxMundi · 12/12/2007 14:41

I think I might send this one to my mum to help fuel her 'PC gone mad' delusions.

pmsl very funny..was mildly taken in until I saw the bit about paddington bear being gunned down...lol

DumbledoreWithBoughsOfHolly · 12/12/2007 15:10

notmyrtle, sorry for my sense of humour (and sense of common sense) failure. I am afraid to admit I did think it was for real at first, and in that context, found it offensive. But I am pretty broadminded, and knowing now that it is a joke, I a) think it is funny (ish) and b) am that I ever thought it was for real. Actually the bit that made me suspicious was the idea that a 5 year old could learn to say "Lo, there is a great star in the sky, which is easily explained by rational and scientific means and certainly does not prove the existence of some sort of supernatural diety?"

Newsbiscuit does some cracking spoofs sometimes. Maybe this one TAKES the biscuit?
