How come on Monday this was reported as a schedule conflict, but he was hoping to attend and today it's a schedule boycott? Was Mugabe invited yesterday? Or is Brown jus weaselling out of going to sign the EU COnstitution (treat, my arse)?

I can't believe he's allowed to attend - makes my blood boil

Fair enough. But how come on Monday Brown didn't have a problem with it, and today it's a boycott. I think Brown thinks we are fools.

well this article from last week indicates he was planning on boycotting because of him...

Didn't see the report of monday saying it was a scheduling clash.

GloriaInEleusis · 07/12/2007 11:38

Ah, perhaps it's just conflicting reporters. Can't remember where, but I definitely read earlier this week that there was a potential schedul conflict but he was still hoping to attend.

I had also heard the word boycott used before today (on Today prog I think).

I like this :

"European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso insisted the talks were bigger than any personality clash."

"Personality clash"? WTF??

cushioncover · 07/12/2007 21:58

I also heard quite a while ago that he was planning not to attend.

at 'personality clash'
