I don’t understand why there isn’t aid ? How come Biden isn’t helping them . Why aren’t there food supplies and heat sources been sent to them . Iv read the news but all I can find is people are rescuing turtles 🐢?!
It’s like they have been left to rot . I don’t understand, when this happens in 3rd world counties everyone runs to help .
Why aren’t other Americans helping , why are they still freezing to death . I’m sure I’m missing / not understanding

Im sorry but your turtle rescue made me laugh! I've no idea why!

I understand Biden has declared the position of Texas to be a state of emergency and federal aid is now on its way... a little too late in my opinion.

There should have been movement on state funded aid and supplies within 24 hours.

Other states can't send them power because they have stupidly ensured that the whole state is on their own power grid. In other words, other states can't send them energy. Even if they could, the main problem is that the equipment has not been kept upthe natural gas pipelines are frozen. With no heat, water pipes have burst everywherethere's too many to fix at once. It's really the fault of energy decisions made by the Texas government around 20 years ago. They chose a system that cannot handle a freak weather event (and believe me, this weather is unheard of for Texas). Biden has sent generators down there, but I don't know how much that has helped. Texas government has a history of hating government regulation of any kind, and this is the result. I have relatives in Texas. One had electricity but no heat or water, the other suffered electrical outages (plus no water). I'm pretty sure that they are on a boiling water regime now. My cousin lives in a large city in Texas-she said that getting someone out to fix pipes would be difficultthe roads were very bad (no snowplows down her way). As far as sending blankets, etcthere's 29 million people in Texas and I have no idea how they would be distributed to people who need them. If it was just one area of the state, help would be more attainable, but really, it's almost everyone.

The US has a vast and well equipped military. It's reasonable to deploy some of them to support distribution of emergency aid.

They have their own power grid because they do not want the expense of harmonising with other states.
There is sympathy from many even if not outright support for secession from the USA. Remember that Texas was a country they gained it's freedom directly from Mexico/Spain (The Alamo) about the same time that Mexico was gaining its independence. The Republic of Texas had an properly accredited Ambassador to London in about 1838 I think.
