Monic Joint, Family Bonding Advocate and Author, Blasts Claire Verity Baby Care Methods for Endangering Family Bonding

This is just a site that promotes Press Releases but I liked this part:

"We should denounce Claire Verity for her part in interfering with family bonding and for publicly teaching parents to view a baby?s human right to communicate its needs by crying as being unimportant. For the sake of an easier life for parents while the baby?s too young to speak, Claire is condemning the whole family to a lifetime of disorders and disfunctionality."

Good, good...

And what a fab name!

Am sure it's been said countless times already, but it's such an important point about how that method not only affects the baby,, but the family as well.

Siblings not allowed a cuddle with their new bro/sis

GPs not allowed to visit!

I think it sends out very unhealthy messages, particularly to young children... "When someone cries/screams we leave them in a state of high distress"

Hello to everyone who has posted about my Clair Verity press release and comments, I appreciate your support! My 10 Downing Street e-petition will be up and running soon; it takes up to 5 days, but I am campaigning for the government to provide every pregnant woman/expectant family in the U.K. with an ante-natal parenting manual that will cover 3 key points:
1)Positive and confident parenting methods
2)Family bonding methods
3)Positive child discipline methods including how to avoid smacking.

I think one of the reasons why so many people fail and have to resort to putting themselves onto t.v. to get the only kind of free parenting help they can get their hands on is really sad. If the government were to offer guidance to parents within pregnancy I think there would be a huge reduction in the rates of child abuse/neglect, bullying etc...

Families all seem to be living in singular techno societies where they turn more to other forms of support rather to their own families and this needs to be improved. A family is a person's lifetime army, and the happiness and survival of the family should never ever be interfered with by anyone, let alone a childless woman who is advocating her 'Stepford Families' approach--a nation of robot children is not what we need! Anyone that encourages a recent or vulnerable parent to disassociate themselves from their child is encouraging child abuse. I will post the link for this petition as soon as it is up and running; you can check my blog page or press page over the next few days for this link. If you'd like me to email you when this link is up and running you can send me an email at [email protected] Once again, thank you for your support. Monic Joint, mummymusthave co uk

Hi mummymusthave

Interesting plans. I'm slightly concerned about your idea about a govenment-sponsored parenting manual, though. After all, parenting is such an individual thing - we can choose our methods as we like. I for one don't like the idea that there should be one, government-sponsored, DoH approved method of parenting being offered to new mums.

I would rather see money put into much better support services for new mums - personal support networks, so that health visitors could spend more time with each new mum and offer advice tailored to her and her situation.
