Hi - please can somebody offer some clarity I really don't need the 'read the news police' I'm genuinely confused with my situation and want to follow the rules the best I can!

My In laws look after my DS every Friday - they have no other grandchildren, only look after him but do have him together (e.g. both of them as it would be too much for one on their own)

One thing I've read lead me to believe that the 'bubble' will just mean one of them can have him alone - is anyone able to help please?

The government website says that informal childcare can continue for children under 13.

"Parents are able to form a childcare bubble with another household for the purposes of informal childcare, where the child is 13 or under. As above, some households will also be able to benefit from being in a support bubble, which allows single adult households to join another household."

They can both look after him together. The guidance specifically says informal childcare such as that provided by grandparents is fine (as long as they only look after him and don't also help out other families).

So you can carry on as you have been.
