Problems with Wet markets

I saw a photo today of 3 cages in a Chinese wet markets. Inside the bottom cage was a fawn- baby deer. The cage above had a baby beaver in it and above that cage there was a creature that looked like a gopher. The cages were only big enough for the animal to sit. They couldn't turn around - no food or water in any of the cages. The animals were alive and waiting to be sold as food. I wanted to go sand rescue them straightaway. I am vegetarian. To do this to animals I think is disgraceful when humans can eat other things. I hope after this coronavirus that the world puts pressure on the Chinese and other countries who do this to animals.
Also, scientists now think that the virus originated in a lab. What the bloody hell is China up to? It really worries me as to what else is going on in countries behind closed doors. At times I hate the human race. I just felt I needed to put this out there . I feel so ashamed that we let these wet markets exist- what is wrong with the human race?

I really dont think that scientists 'think it originated in a lab'. Do you have a link for that?

These cruel things should be banned

Trump believes the virus originated in a lab. Scientists don't. They generally agree that the evidence shows that the virus is not the result of genetic engineering. It is very similar to known coronaviruses associated with bats and almost certainly evolved naturally.

There have been suggestions that, although the virus is natural, it may have been accidentally released from the Wuhan laboratory. The US press has reported that US embassy officials who visited the lab were concerned about security and management weaknesses. However, US scientists who have visited the lab take a different view and regard the idea of accidental release as a conspiracy theory. Indeed, there is evidence to suggest that the virus may have first emerged in a completely different part of China.
