Have they said what they consider so wrong about a bf? Another reason to avoid sites like this.

What they're banning is pics of exposed breasts (well, they kind of aren't - there's less breast exposed in many bf pics than is exposed in pics of a bikini-clad woman) which includes bfing.

Would be a lot easier, as another poster says, to ban pics of exposed nipple. Much easier to police as well.

I just feel a bit uneasy about people seeing breastfeeding as something x-rated. I'd rather it was taken for granted and ignored because it's perfectly normal and natural...

But I am enjoying facebook, I understand it could be difficult for them and hope they work it out. In the mean time I've joined the group of course!

I agree with Pan - I wouldn't be at all offended by seeing photos of babies being bf if they were posted on FB but it's an odd choice of picture I think. If you are posting a picture to show your baby off, surely there are better poses to do this with?

I wouldn't post a picture of a baby being bottle fed either, simply because it's not going to be a great picture is it?

Otherwise, wrt FB, it does seem to be double standards. I've seen profile pictures showing more nork than any breasfeeding photo I've ever seen and I find those quite offensive tbh - why not just tattoo 'shag me' on your forehead instead?

I love seeing women giving their babies the best start in life by BFing them. I think its a wonderful image to see a Mum feeding her LO> presumably many artists over the centuries have found it a good image too - hence all the classical art depicting Mother BFing baby.

Why would anyone find it obscene?

I think FB are making a real arse of themselves over this

yes, agree with the 'no exposed nipple' policy.

FWIW, I'm not attaching same/embarassment to bf AT ALL. From what I understand 'tis best for all concerned for so many reasons.

Or being controversial for the sake of it.

Don't mind seeing mums bf in public, and would go out of my way to facilitate it if asked. It just struck me as an odd thing to show to the www. Have piccies for one's own consumption, yes, but showing them to the world just has a question mark over it for me.

interesting the 'bottlefed baby' question......don't know if I'd wish piccies of dd feeding on the internet at all.

If I was Facebook King, there would be no nipples as a matter of good taste, and bf would be allowed, but sat on my throne I'd be wondering WTF???
