Apparently it's as powerful as a nuclear weapon and all life with a nine-block radius will just evaporate.

On the plus side, it's environmentally friendly...well, there's a plus.

Story here

Oh great, a belligerent president and a new weapon... just what the world needed.

pyjamagirl · 12/09/2007 09:00

Oh great boys and their toys
they are honestly like children arguing in the playground.
My bombs bigger then your bomb FFS

stillsleeping · 12/09/2007 09:04

link didn't work for me, how can it be environmentally friendly if it wipes out all life in a 9 block radius? seems contradictory to me. please explain!

Spillage21 · 12/09/2007 09:22

My thoughts exactly.

Basically my knob's bigger than yours...but on a global scale.

I think there is probably alot that goes on in Russia that we don't know about - I just can't take GWB seriously when I look at the likes of Putin bare chested out fishing.
Ofcourse every govn has its secrets but there is something about Russia that makes me think - its a bit dark and dangerous...

Ripeberry · 12/09/2007 09:35

Whilst the West has its eyes on Iraq and Afganistan, the Russians are creeping up behind us.
Enviromentally friendly means there will be no radioactivity.
This bomb could be worse than a nuclear bomb as they would be more willing to use it.
What a world Ehh..

Russia is dark and dangerous. I read this over the summer. Scary reading.

Callisto · 12/09/2007 10:46

Well, if it is any consolation, Russia has the lowest birth rate and fastest falling population in the world coupled with an economy that is nothing but oil. A lot of the sabre rattling is to take our eyes off the fact that Russia is a failing country run by crime and corruption. Putin is desperate to be taken seriously (small man syndrome).

Having said all that, I wouldn't be suprised if they do use the bomb - probably on the Chechens first to test it, then maybe us...

Spillage21 · 12/09/2007 11:02

Oh well [as she wonders what it's like to get vapourised]...

Yes, I have to admit I was very scared by that picture of Putin fishing...

SSSandy2 · 12/09/2007 11:18

"The main destruction is inflicted by an ultrasonic shockwave and an incredibly high temperature," ORT added.

"All that is alive merely evaporates."

Nice achievement that.

multitasker · 12/09/2007 11:57

That book sounds like a great if depressing resd.

VladimireIlychUlyanovPan · 12/09/2007 12:15

"Apparently it's as powerful as a nuclear weapon and all life with a nine-block radius will just evaporate. "

That is a quote from the article about the American MOAB bomb, not this one.

Lets be careful about double standards, eh, comrades???

fluffyanimal · 12/09/2007 12:22

"Russia is dark and dangerous." True, partly. But just to present the other side of the coin, it is also joyful, friendly and mostly peaceable. Agree with Callisto about Putin.

VladimireIlychUlyanovPan · 12/09/2007 12:34

Agree fluffy. I had the wonderful pleasure of visiting Moscow, Leningrad (as it was), Kiev and the Black Sea area. I fascinating, friendly country, with not much urge to go being a protaginist in warfare.

francagoestohollywood · 12/09/2007 13:41

oh gosh fluffy, yes sorry I didn't mean to make sweeping generalizations or implying that Russians have a dangerous nature or anything like that. I've never been and would love to visit Pushkin homeland. It must be heartbreakingly beautiful. Putin is dangerous, I believe, and has indeed a "small man syndrome", in fact, he is a friend of Berlusconi
