Am finding myself thinking a lot about what this poor man and his family must be going through. Absolutely hideous terror. Really couldn't sleep last night, kept dwelling on it.

Know more news as far I as I know Mosschops but it all seems so horribly inevitable

SadSadSad

Hulababy · 23/09/2004 19:27

It's so horrid. I have no idea how the family are getting through each day. I read his plea on the BBc site (they have the transcript in full) and it is so distressing

PicadillyCircus · 23/09/2004 19:30

I am finding it so horrible; I find it hard to believe that such a thing can be happening

pixiefish · 23/09/2004 19:32

it's surreal isn't it and yet we know it's real- horrific world we live in

suedonim · 23/09/2004 19:38

Me too, Tinker. I think with all the video contact this time (not that I've seen anything except newspaper photos) it seems horribly real. It's barbaric, I feel sick when I think of what he and those other people have been through.

Slinky · 23/09/2004 19:43

Me too. I keep thinking about him and his family - haven't been able to watch his plea

twogorgeousboys · 23/09/2004 19:51

Utterly dreadful. Cannot stop thinking about this poor man and his family.

Twinkie · 24/09/2004 10:08

Can't bare to think about it and what he is going through and those savages holding him - I swing from thinking one minute that he knew the consequences and should not have gone out there and then thinking he was just an ordinary man who wanted a nest egg and maybe didn't really understand the security implications. But either way no one deserves to be put through that.

I am also terribly cross with Tony Blair after him saying that we could not converse with terrorists - sorry what about Gerry Adams and Martin McGuiness et al??

tiredemma · 29/09/2004 15:12

hes still alive, they have released new footage of him, chained and caged like an animal pleading with tony blair for his life again. v.distressing

codswallop · 29/09/2004 15:31

somehtings really get you dont hey
beslan and omagh were mine

bundle · 29/09/2004 15:32

poor, poor man, and his family

Whimsy · 29/09/2004 23:58

I find this really distressing, what the hell is Tony Blair doing. For FFS, get this man out im sure if it was Mr Blair's son he would be doing everything he could to get him out of there. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr Bigley and his family.I think people should be thinking about this thraed more than the crap MoonandStars is spouting

24HrsNotEnough · 30/09/2004 00:16

I can't stop thinking about him too, I dwell too much on this kind of thing, what must be going through his mind etc.

I was in a right state on Saturday - had Portuguese tv on and saw his picture with a caption...and I thought I'd read that they had executed him and 9 british soldiers...quickly turned screen off cos they'll show anything and then looking on BBC/Reuters to see if true...nothing, then saw the other day that his brother new he was alive...THANK GOD!!!! I'm shaking now writing this, makes me so BLOODY angry...where will they draw the line. If you show this stuff you're pandering to them and maybe causing problems for , if you don't (they play it down in US by all accounts) what are they going to do next to make damned sure we pay attention...remember russia...

Apparently Kenneth Bigley refused all security guards and openly wandered about even though he was told on numerous occasions that he was a kidnap target. He was rather blase at the time and joked that you only die once. Guess it was probably a case of it wouldn't happen to me. I do feel desperately sorry for him but it does beg the question of why would anyone in their right mind willingly put themselves in such a potentially dangerous situation when they have a choice. Those British soldiers who have been killed didnt really have a choice of whether they went to Iraq or not as they were ordered to do so and when you join the forces it is always a possibility that you have to face. The most distressing thing about Kenneth Bigley's plight is the parading on tv, his pleas for his life and the totally barbaric death he faces at the hands of these loonies. I saw the first beheading, the most gruesome sight ever witnessed and one that I will never forget.

I agree with that Trifle - don't know what would possess someone to work there atm. Well, I do - money. Even so, doesn't stop you thinking about how horrific the whole thing is. It's the nature of teh execution which is so horrible

These executions are unbelievably horrific. I do hope the reports are wrong.

Marina · 08/10/2004 13:32

News is on the BBC website, unconfirmed reports at present. BBC does not show stills or video of these atrocities.
