That is tragic. Harman, you could be right, news story says police wouldn't say if any adults were in the house.

I've been watching this on the news and hadn't realised when it had happened. I felt so sorry for the neighbours who tried to rescue the little girl and had to listen to her screaming.

Sad news indeed. However the family could probably do without the conjecture / rumour mill aspect. Dangerous to go on hearsay from the local shop (sorry not trying to lecture honestly! - just urging caution until facts are known)

kel4mum · 11/06/2007 22:55

Very sad.

ViciousSquirrelSpotter · 11/06/2007 22:55

Oh how horrific.

Poor little girl.

Well sure - but it also says the parents had to be held back?

No matter...it's just that I think it's unfair to speculate. Could well turn out that the parents weren't there. Time will tell

handlemecarefully · 11/06/2007 23:00

Sorry to sound like I am telling you off harman - you were only offloading and repeating what you had heard. These things are all the more upsetting when they happen in your neighbourhood aren't they?

I heard this on the the radio too and just watched it now. How terribly tragic. Poor, poor family. It's awful when these things are so close to home. You just can't stop thinking about it.

smudgermumof3 · 12/06/2007 10:30

oh how terrible is that i have always said that if there was a fire in my house i would not get out till my kids were out with me or first, i know that is easy to say when you havent been in that situation . I dont want to cause a arguement i just dont think i could and i certainly wouldnt leave my children in a house on there own, thats not strictly true hang washing out in the garden but makes you wonder if you should leave children on there own anywhere. Some goods news i found out yesterday that im pregnant, my partners first so hes over the moon god sleepless nights again lol .xxxxxx

You were right than harman - my humble apologies for mild lecture last night.

Personally I can't understand leaving children in the house for a few minutes. Apparently it takes a couple of minutes for noxious fumes incompatible with human life to take home.

Nevertheless I expect those parents loved their children with all their hearts and are going through utter agony now

handlemecarefully · 12/06/2007 20:45

to take 'hold'
