This literally makes me feel sick as it's so awful. Just so horrific and so sad for all involved. How on earth did they have a gun around in the house?

First reports say it's an accident. Just awful and so sad.

I'm not often bothered by stuff in the news. This has though.

Where do people get guns these days? ( and no, I don't want one!)

Callisto · 02/05/2007 08:47

AFAIK you can pick up a semi-automatic for about £50 if you know the right people. They are not difficult to come by unfortunately.

Is this the one where the 16 year old arrested shortly after was her brother ?
My 85 year old gran has just moved out of Gorton as she said she no longer felt safe anymore after living there all her life

PeachesMcLean · 02/05/2007 12:56

That's a real shame. Gorton was never posh when I knew it but not really a rough neighbourhood. I think that's why I find this so sad. My instant reaction is that they're just a normal family who's now lost a 12 year old.

A normal family? With a gun in the house?

Sorry, but I hope you are not right. If it's normal now to have guns in our homes in this country, then I want to emigrate.

PeachesMcLean · 02/05/2007 17:34

No, it's not normal to have a gun in the house but when you can identify with the people around there, you know most of them are just normal. An awful accident.

The boy has been charged with murder - that can't be right, surely?
