is this something we should be worrying about? Has anyone heard anything else about this in the news?

Thanks for this, I hadn't even thought of any potential risk.

There was a front page article about wi-fi in The Independent on 22 April, which has worried me enough for me to disconnect the wi-fi in our house.

We now have a cable that you can plug into any electric socket in the house and use the laptop from there, we also have a pc which has this cable too - don't ask me how it works, DH is the expert! (Only us adults use the laptop, not the children anyway). Whilst I am trying to do whatever I can (like switching the mobile phones to divert to the home number when we are at home so we can switch them off), the problem I see is that the neighbours probably have wi-fi and mobiles as well, so what effect will that have?

I understand that lots of appliances etc, especially microwaves, also omit varying levels of electronic magnetic fields. I can't find any simple understandable information regarding what appliances omit what levels, and what levels are safe - if any level at all! Of course you have to wonder what EMF levels are omitted by underground electric cables near the house as well .
