Good point MMJ

FiveFingeredFiend · 27/04/2007 10:17

I pity the boy. I really do. The poor poor child has no parents that love him ovbiously.

a 3 yr old should not be out on his own like that. this tells you all you need to know about his upbringing to date! i too blame the parents. it sounds like he's being dragged up.

parenting classes are a good plan, i hope the parents WANT to improve and can accept their mistakes. it's not too late for them to turn that kid around.

Hulababy · 27/04/2007 10:21

How sad What chance does he have withthis start.

These two phrases say it all for me:

After hearing the conditions of the two-year order, he whimpered to magistrates: "Sorry."

...

Kevin Skelton, Anthony's headteacher at Ravensworth Primary School, said the boy responded positively to discipline.

He added: "Anthony at school is clearly a very different young man to the one who roams the streets of South Bank."

...

His father has been given a parenting order. No comment from either mum (not mentioned at all) or dad. It is they who have caused this - letting a 3yo out alone to begin with.

MamaG · 27/04/2007 10:28

Exactly. The people to blame here are his parents/parent. They are responsible for teh boy he is today and its so sad that his future looks so bleak.

Its heartbreaking, really.

I'm a paralegal and we often act for children in care, the stories are horrific, I regularly go home utterly wiped out, suggesting we adopt families of 5!

I suspect the asbo is there to try and make his parents do something. At the very least keep him inside within certain hours. Maybe trying to make them think a bit more.

The child needs some proper looking after. Seems at school that he responds pretty well to discipline, so his parents need to start acting like parents now!

MamaG · 27/04/2007 10:32

TBH I think social services will keep a very close eye on this family.

Porcupine · 27/04/2007 10:35

NKF · 27/04/2007 12:12

Porcupine · 27/04/2007 12:12

i agree

FiveFingeredFiend · 27/04/2007 15:53

I think his father should be in the paper, menacing photo to boot.

what would the Mirror headline be?

DAD gone BAD
son in asbo shocker

juuule · 27/04/2007 16:52

I agree it shouldn't be in the papers.

TwoIfBySea · 27/04/2007 20:47

I hate the idea of children like this, he is such a poor soul and is obviously desperately in need of someone who gives a sh*t about him. If he has been doing this from the age of 3 why have the parents not been held accountable.

If ever there was a cry for help. I just hope someone hears it and he doesn't end up being a career criminal.
