This will hit weekly paid workers - as December is a 5 week month, those who are paid weekly will be considered to be earning more in December despite the fact their weekly earnings have not changed.
Those affected by this to the point of UC being stopped rather than 'just' reduced will have to reapply (and then wait) for UC in the new year.

There was a previous thread discussing this particular flaw of the many flaws in UC here - www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3066503-Universal-Credit-wont-be-paid-in-months-with-5-weeks-WTF-AIBU-to-think-no-one-realises

And a petition here - petition.parliament.uk/petitions/203492

I'm dreading switching to Universal Credit. I feel sorry for those already on it. I'm lucky DS will soon be at school F/T and then I won't need to rely on state help. I wish they'd fix the flaws before rolling it out everywhere.

Yes, it was never 'trialed' really in the sense anyone actually understands trials, as an opportunity to test what works and amend what doesn;t work. That has not happened.

My full time contract ended in August and I have been part time since (looking for full time). Am also really worried about it. The 5 week month thing won't effect me but I am still absolutely incredulous at how very stupid it is.

It’s ludicrous, it really is.

I’ll be writing to my MP even though I’m not on UC because it’s disgusting.
