Yes I would be pleased. It would make the whole thing much more fun. But then I tend to look on elections as a spectator sport......

Ilove the name miliband much more fun than brown

I bet t blair would like him to go for it

I think if he did stand against Brown he has a good chance of winning.
Often the favourite doesn't win.
David Davies was expected to win the Tory leadership but outsider Cameron beat hm in the end.

isn't Miliband the one that looks about 14 and has a bumfluff moustache?

Moomin · 25/03/2007 11:46

Saw a bit of the Andrew Marr programme this morning on BBC1 and they were talking about it. Apparently Tony said 'David should stand for PM' aloud to someone who was overhread and leaked it to press. They were saying he'd obviously known he was going to be overheard and he supports DM more than Gordon, as he sees DM as a kind of 'mini-me'.

I think I quite like DM. Was interested in reading about the circumstances when he adopted his child abroad.

David Milliband is lovely - I've met him several times since he became my Minister and he is a genuinely nice bloke !

He is Sec of State for Agriculture and Environment for anyone who doesn't know.

Moomin · 25/03/2007 11:47

He also looks like my Head of Dept who, in turn, looks like Clark Kent

zippitippitoes · 25/03/2007 11:54

I'm wondering whether superficially he ticks all the boxes

have yet to delve around into his real views and opinions

yes i heard via a grapevine that tony was badgering him to staqnd

He strikes me as being very genuine and sincere - many of the Ministers I've worked for havew been superficial, and you can just tell when you're talking to them. It's something in their eyes. DM is very sincere and really works hard at understanding the issues - some don't bother.

zippitippitoes · 25/03/2007 12:03

what sort of job do you do then scatter

OP posts:
Carmenere · 25/03/2007 12:04

Yes he is definitely easier on the eye and comes accross as sincere and articulate. I hope he does, it will be good for them all to have to fight a bit so we can see what they think and how they handle them selves.

zippitippitoes · 25/03/2007 12:04

and is he irritatingly clever or intelligently clever?
