Elizabeth and Katie Edwards murders: killers' identities revealed

Plexie · 09/06/2017 12:00

This is the case in 2016 where a mother and daughter were murdered in their beds and a teenage girl and boy were found guilty. The names of the killers weren't revealed because of their ages.

The BBC are reporting that the ban on naming the killers has been lifted. The girl killer was the daughter/sister of Elizabeth and Katie. Chilling.

@northernlurker - about the other case you mention, do you mean the one in York?

JustMyLuckUnfortunately · 09/06/2017 18:34

So awful to read. I remember the story but had also presumed it was an underage child who was friends/not friends with one of the children

GiraffesCantPlayHopScotch · 09/06/2017 18:34

It was posted on here at the time. Then deleted.

The automatic thought is she must be mentally ill.

Freshprincess · 09/06/2017 18:56

I saw their names on social media at the time, there is another older daughter who posted about it on Facebook.

Truly shocking.

Thanks to those who brought this thread to our attention. Whilst we do allow folk to discuss cases which are in the public domain, we'd like to remind everyone of our talk guidelines.

We don't allow speculation on active cases. Any such posts will be deleted and you'll see that we've already removed quite a few from this thread. If we have to delete so many posts that it's full of holes, we'll have to consider deleting the thread.

We'd really appreciate it if everyone could bear this in mind when posting – and if you think there's anything you think we should see, please do report it.

AlexanderHamilton · 09/06/2017 20:18

It's not an active case though is it?

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 09/06/2017 21:29

Reading the case in full it looks like the boy has a personality disorder and the girl attachment disorder of some sort

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 09/06/2017 21:31

Not sure if posted already

Please be aware, it's not an easy read. Upsetting and detailed

Alexander - the deleted posts refer to a different case, which hasn't been to court yet. Not this one.

AlexanderHamilton · 09/06/2017 22:29

Ok that makes more sense.

DecisionsDecisions33 · 09/06/2017 22:54

Apologies for deleted posts didn't realise other case was active etc

Thank you for further info on this case below, I will read it now

MarvinKMooney · 10/06/2017 08:44

Sorry MN. Blush

OliviaStabler · 10/06/2017 08:46

I knew about this. Very sad and shocking.

MimsyBorogroves · 10/06/2017 08:50

It was all over the Internet, sadly.

BuzzKillington · 10/06/2017 10:51

It's really shocking, but agree with others, it was not exactly a well kept secret.

Iamcheeseman · 10/06/2017 10:57

I'm probably just really naive with thinks like this and I didn't read a lot around it when it happened but I do remember reading about a sister the same age as the murders and thinking that poor girl now has no sister or mother as they were killed by her school peers! Never occurred to me it would be her!
It's just so sad Sad

WelliesAndPyjamas · 10/06/2017 11:28

Spalding is a small town. It was no secret.

Now that justice has been done, the matter needs to be left alone so that the surviving family members can get on with as normal a life as possible after such an appalling crime, in a town where everyone will always know to whom they are related.
