sorry haven't time to read the article but if its about Charlie boy then I'm glad he is opinionated and fiesty. Its about time we had royals who were not afraid to show their souls. I admire anyone who has enough strength to say what they feel and stands by it regardless of what the kickback is.

ArcticRoll · 15/03/2007 20:36

I'm a republican-kick 'em all out.

CountTo10 · 15/03/2007 20:39

First explain to me what purpose the royal family actually serve that we need to be arsed about what any of them think/do then I'll answer!!!!!

southeastastra · 15/03/2007 20:39

oh dear ! i saw a bit of the documentary at the end, it didn't look good for him. have to read article now.

nearlythree · 15/03/2007 20:40

I like what he says - great he's a thorn in the side of the Government - funny how right he has turned out to be about stuff too.

I like Charles - but I do question the need for them all! IT would be great to see then living in a 4 bed terrace and doing their shopping in waitrose!

HunieBuniesBack · 15/03/2007 20:42

Want him to pay the taxes the rest of us do when we sell property which is not our principal primarily residence.

frumpygrumpy · 15/03/2007 20:43

I like charles. He has a deeper, darker, humourous side that I think was nearly squeezed out of him.

But not quite.

He is a fox in the brain department. Not so good in the brad pitt department.

nearlythree · 15/03/2007 20:44

My life wouldn't fall apart if the monarchy ended. But in response to the OP, if we have a prince at all, best to have one who stirs up the vile bunch who rule us IMO.

southeastastra · 15/03/2007 20:45

channel 4 show

paulaplumpbottom · 15/03/2007 20:46

I also like that he is vocal. I personally feel that the Queen is a bit boring and I think its wonderful that there is a royal who feels that he can speak his mind.

The CH4 show was hardly unbiased and apparently a lot of it was blatantly untrue.

The Queen keeps quiet b/c she believes she has to. Charles ays he will shut up once he is king. Shame really, there are few checks against the brainlessness of our politicians.

cori · 15/03/2007 20:49

I like to hear what he has to say. At least he speaks his mind unlike politicians that only say what you want to hear.

southeastastra · 15/03/2007 20:51

the queen is a bit boring! he he poor queen

i like charles, though don't know how much power he'll get as king

CODalmighty · 15/03/2007 20:52

i want him beheaded
up the revolution

paulaplumpbottom · 15/03/2007 20:58

Should he have to shut up when he is king?

OP posts:
southeastastra · 15/03/2007 21:01

he's got a bit too much prince phillip in him

paulaplumpbottom · 15/03/2007 21:24

I think Prince Phillip comes across as very nasty though and I don't think there is any nastiness in Charles.

OP posts:
nearlythree · 15/03/2007 21:24

Well, this programme proves people think he should shut up now. Don't think he is anything like PP, I think a lot of PC's problems stem from the fact his father never understood his son's talking-to-plants side. - I think PC still has 'issues' with his father's lack of affection.

Come the revolution I've quite a few more that are above PC in my book. Whatever else he's done, he hasn't led us into an illegal and immoral war.

edam · 15/03/2007 21:28

The bit of the show I saw was very unfair - just caught part of it that happened to cover something where I know the background. The aggrieved party who accused PC of meddling was actually transferring his own guilt onto PC. The AP had breached professional ethics and broken confidence in a very serious way. Obviously having a pop at PC to distract from his own wrong-doing.

Dunno about the rest of it but frankly any politicians who have climbed the greasy pole as far as ministerial positions should be more than capable of dealing with a few letters from a Prince who has no consituency and no actual power.

paulaplumpbottom · 15/03/2007 22:16

Well he may have no power in the traditional sense but he is the future King and because he is people are naturally curious about what he has to say. I think that having the advantage of being heard by a wide group of people is a very powerful thing and I think politicians aren't blind to that.

Kevlarhead · 15/03/2007 23:09

Ah, it's good to have a loose cannon or two around; keeps things interesting.

KathyMCMLXXII · 16/03/2007 14:45

I think he abuses his position outrageously.

I don't really think 'feisty' is really the word for someone who is surrounded by yes-men and never gets criticised to his face.

But the more indiscreet he is the better IMO as the worse he behaves the more likely it is we will get rid of them.

nearlythree · 16/03/2007 15:00

I wouldn't say being denied the right to marry the person of your choice amounts to being surrounded by 'yes' men.

Abuses what position? Or is he the only person in the country denied the right to have an opinion?
