I can't help but think that this is going to end in a war between Russia and the US.

The announced collaboration seemed to good to be true, I guess it was as it's lasted such a short time :(

There are plenty of people (formerly from Olgino, Russia) post on social media views to make them appear mainstream, for money.

America, with its greed and self importance, has ruined the world. They always interfere where they are not needed just to make a quick buck and for oil. Always read the American spin on things with a huge lump of salt. 99% of the news is adapted to suit their narrative.

With the internet and brilliant political blogs and podcasts that are neutral in their political stance, there is no excuse for believing the spin that's force fed by the US.

Here is Peter Hitchens of the Mail on Sunday. I don't think he has any connection with Olgino.

"A Real Expert Speaks about Syria
...
On Saturday, in a brief flash of knowledge and understanding, the BBC allowed an actual expert on Syria on to a major programme . I am not sure they bargained for what they got, a few brief minutes on concreted, well-informed scorn for the policy the BBC has itself been actively promoting through the nature of its coverage since the Syrian crisis began, thoughtless, emotive, utopian and one-sided from the start. Some of you may recall my appalled response to this coverage at the time, which seemed to me to be playing with fire. I didn’t know the half of it.

This expert is Peter Ford, once Her Britannic Majesty’s Ambassador to Syria ( a job not handed out to just anybody), genuinely knowledgeable about that country and the Middle East, and so utterly opposed to the British government’s current ridiculous policy.

He argued that the choice is quite simple, between Assad or the deluge. He said Russia’s policy was quite reasonable, wondered out loud (as I do) why the Labour Party does not make more of this very considerable British foreign policy failure . He described the Western powers as having ‘impaled themselves’ on their policy of calling for the downfall of President Assad. He argued ( and this I had not heard before) that Western sanctions on Syria, by creating more misery there, were also causing people to flee destitution and become refugees."

claig that means admitting that the UK and the US are definitely behind the rise of ISIS. Bombing the Syrian troops was a 'mistake'? Really? What saddens me is the number of people who actually believe that story.

claig · 20/09/2016 12:58

'What saddens me is the number of people who actually believe that story.'

Yes, most people believe that the BBC is impartial. They can't believe that it might be biased against Corbyn and in favour of Bliars.

I have to say, people are definitely still falling into the trap of US versus Russia. I have never been a fan of US led operations going back years and years into the Middle East, and suddenly all those cohorts who used to agree with me (or be on the same page) are leaping to the defence of the US - because why? Because Russia.

I don't trust either side: neither side is angelic. Both are selfish, pursuant of self-interest, are guilty of global and domestic interests we are only ever given hints of. The absolute last thing that either side cares about is the individual lives of people on the ground.

I don't take either side - but neither do I take either side's word for it.

WinchesterWoman · 20/09/2016 13:28

And I repeat- the us is invested in Assad being ousted NOT for humanitarian reasons but for reasons of global power play. They do not care about the migration crisis, which has the approval of soros and the UN anyway. So they don't care if they make it worse.

takesnoprisoners · 20/09/2016 18:24

On the money, WinchesterWoman. They are appeasing the so called establishment.

WinchesterWoman · 20/09/2016 18:40

To paraphrase Ian Hislop: if Hillary Clinton cares about refugees, I'm a banana.

I think when Trump wins
Well, it won't be US versus Russia then will it, as Trump has such strong links with Russia.
