Why is David Cameron and the rest of the Westminster ilk carrying on as if his resignation is a jolly leaving party with champagne and cake?

I've just watched PMQs and I'm shocked they didn't bring in party hats, cake and champagne. It was something of a jovial leaving party rather than acknowledging we've been left some what up shit creek without so much as a paddle. Cameron tried to alter what his legacy will be wrt reducing the deficit, unemployment and gay marriage but we still have that small issue to deal with about Europe.

I can say that I do think in the current climate Theresa May is probably the best person for the job - in so far as the alternative would have been Andrea-'no filter'-Leadsom but Cameron shouldn't be laughing his way out of Downing street. He single-handedly caused this.

Have you been drinking this evening Peach?

Hockeydude · 13/07/2016 22:37

I don't agree. I think Cameron was doing a public service being prime minister and some people voted leave just because they wanted to give him a slap in the face because they can't understand why he wasn't planting forests of money trees. He tried to make the best use of very limited money. Well, guess what, the people who intended that have slapped themselves in the face because we lost a decent prime minister. And he deserves several exotic holidays. He served us and we just chucked him out with the garbage but he's having the last laugh - a great family life, money for speaking at dinners, much less scrutiny. Good luck to him. He tried to act in people's best interests and was not a hard right winger, he was reasonable.

squoosh · 13/07/2016 22:38

'He deserves all the accolades coming his way.'

Which accolades would those be?

NickiFury · 13/07/2016 22:48

" we just chucked him out with the garbage "

He resigned.

MargotLovedTom · 13/07/2016 22:51

From the look of him at Wimbledon he's been pissing it up for the last two and a half weeks.

squoosh · 13/07/2016 22:53

'He served us and we just chucked him out with the garbage'

Er, you do know he resigned don't you?? To many peoples' surprise.

GiddyOnZackHunt · 13/07/2016 23:05

Well of course he was chipper. Early start to the Hols, Sam chuffed not to living in Downing Street, easy back bench job for the next 4 years and if he gets his way a peerage and a seat in the Lords. And none of that hard shit to do.
Tory MPs were all dreaming of a cabinet seat and getting giddy with excitement.
Corbyn is required to say something nice and doesn't need to rock the boat right now but he got a polite dig in.

MargotLovedTom · 13/07/2016 23:15

I must be ovulating or awash with some weird hormone shit, but I was idly imagining what he'd be like to shag when I was looking at photos of him leaving No 10.

squoosh · 13/07/2016 23:19

You must be the opposite of women who are attracted to powerful men. You're one of those women who's turned on by once powerful men. You want to rescue them. I bet you were more attracted to post plane crash Ralph Fiennes in the English Patient.

When he looks like Freddy Krueger? Fuck no. It's time to confess I've had these thoughts about Cameron before. Help me!

colouringinagain · 13/07/2016 23:32

I agree. Completely nauseating. And he had the gall to say today he leaves Britain stronger!

Wtf?

Significant possibility of break up of UK. incompetence re design of referendum. He should be ashamed.

MargotLovedTom · 13/07/2016 23:35

It's this photo where you can't see the ham face his back looks all broad and manly, and he's got that hand on her waist and you can imagine him pulling her towards him and giving her a good seeing to.

squoosh · 13/07/2016 23:37

Oh Margot, I've consulted all my books and I'm afraid as yet there's no treatment that will cure you. Please quarantine yourself.

MargotLovedTom · 13/07/2016 23:40

I think I'd better. What if this Bizarre Tory Lust transfers to BoJo though??! There is no hope Sad.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 13/07/2016 23:43

Margot! Grin

GiddyOnZackHunt · 14/07/2016 00:56

Margot in that picture all I can see is him stood on Sam's toe and the vent in his jacket looking like a ginormous arse crack...
Grin
You could maybe get therapy?

Lottapianos · 14/07/2016 08:16

God almighty Margot! I can't bear to look closely at that photo, but I agree with the others about quarantine. And if you develop any BoJo fantasies, it's time for the glass of whiskey, revolver, locked room scenario

MargotLovedTom · 14/07/2016 09:22

GrinGrinGrin at the arse crack.

Don't worry, even in my most feverish states I've never looked at Boris that way.

MargotLovedTom · 14/07/2016 09:26

Oh God, I don't know though....I'm starting to feel twinges....

Being a "spoilt child" saved the UK from entering the mess that is the Euro. It's actually called standing up for ourselves.

Samcro · 14/07/2016 09:41

all the brown nosing yesterday pissed me off
no mention on the stuff i saw of the bad stuff he did. just a lot of back slapping about how wonderful he was.
a few interviews with people who are destitute because of his government would have balanced things better.

NickiFury · 14/07/2016 10:34

It's just one more leaving party isn't it? I'm sure there was a party when he left prep school, then a Ball when he left Eton, then when he left Uni and the Bullingdon club. Just one more leaving party from the pre planned and expected next stage of his over privileged life. That's how he sees it, that is how all his guffawing, back clapping buddies see it. How people could have willingly voted this man and his crew in and expected and believed they would understand and care about the best interests of the general population I cannot begin to comprehend.

RedHareWithBlondeHair · 14/07/2016 11:58

Lindy Entering the Euro was never part of the plan under any government. When I say spoilt child I refer to the meetings of the heads of state in which Cameron went away promising us the moon on a stick and came back with more printing paper for the photocopier.

Exactly. as soon as the vote went not the way he wanted he bailed out.

hes a chicken. he should have stayed and sorted himself and his party out, but immediately passed the buck.

he should be ashamed for what he did by running away from his responsibilities, him, and Osborne.

I cant stand corbyn but hes at least staying put and not running out.

dcs a cock, he really is, lets see if Mays any better.

BTW why the FUCK has she kept Jeremy CUNT as health minister yet sacked Gove? Goves a twat usually, but he more thatn held his own in the campaign, and I quite admired him for that.

BeckerLleytonNever · 14/07/2016 16:51

^^ THIS.

and I noticed May on her 1st PM speech didn't mention helping the disabled. as always. yes she mentions mental health, but not the DISABLED or their carers, or the bedroom tax for disabled.

I despar of this fucking politics.
