A number of other reptile species are known to reproduce by parthenogenesis, including a skink that only has females. It is believed that the offspring of the Komodo dragons would have to be male for genetic reasons, though that was also thought of a species of snake that has managed to produce female offspring in a zoo by parthenogenesis.

Lots of insects do it, including greenfly. Turkeys can do it. Komodo dragons may have been reproducing this way for years, unobserved.

LOL - a bit like the tree falling unobserved makes a sound or not question... of course theyve been doing it for years unobserved. hell, cows probably have meetings about taking over the world when werte not looking...havnt you seen the farside cartoon??
