Yet more evidence of this sociopathic government

I think children do need time to get their heads around what has happened, for it to be at the discretion of the schools head is unacceptable.

So the headline and thread shoudl be Government allows heads to decide and alow children compassionate leave for longer periods when grieving. That is the opposite of what is being portrayed.

Also there is no legal obligation to go to school in the UK. Plenty of mumsnetters home educate. That remains a choice or pay school fees as I do to avoid that kind of state regulation. Beware the state and keep away from its reach. Big state is always bad.

It reads to me as though the government supports a case by case approach and gives HTs the discretion to do so. If a child needed two weeks off, I would imagine they would be unwell enough for the parents to be working with the school and GP and it would become a non issue x
