Looked for a thread but couldn't find one.

I just heard this on BBC PM. I was so Shock Angry Sad I missed my turnoff. WTAF?

*Two young sisters are being locked inside an alarmed bedroom at night to protect them from their motherâ??s paedophile husband â?? and social workers say itâ??s fine.

The authorities have astonishingly given the go-ahead to the monstrous plan the mum dreamed up so she can sleep with their vile stepfather.

The convicted abuser, once jailed for attacking a girl under 13, has now been allowed to move in with her and the children â?? also both under 13.

And among other â??safetyâ?? factors believed to have been taken into account in a shocking official report was that the paedophile would have to climb over the mum from his side of the bed to get to the girls â?? and would therefore wake her up.

County council officials who rubber-stamped the decision were also happy that the imprisoned children could use a baby monitor to call for their mother if they needed to be let out to go to the toilet.

They allowed the child abuser to move in only a few months after describing him as a â??continuing riskâ?? to the girls.*

Shock
TheXxed · 20/04/2015 18:26

I can think of several cases where women facilitated the abuse of their children. Why do social services assume she wouldn't.

girliefriend · 20/04/2015 18:28

Also speechless

SomethingToTalkAbout · 20/04/2015 18:29

Eddie Mair said the BBC were trying to find out which court actually approved this.

I just cannot believe that this could be allowed to happen. I mean, aside from the fact that their own mother could put them in danger like this, in such a ridiculously selfish way, but SS actually agree with it?

Those poor girls.

How could you possibly be attracted to man who abused young girls? And then bring that man into your home with your young children?

I just don't understand

QOD · 20/04/2015 18:32

I saw this . Cos yes. Children are only abused at night in bedrooms ffs

Fucking world is so wrong. What's wrong with the mother ffs!

meandjulio · 20/04/2015 18:34

God this is horrifying.

Can't see much text to the story on that link.

Presumably by 'allowed' they mean that they can't stop the man moving in or the woman deciding to let him, but they have decided that they are not going to request an order to remove the girls.

Just shows unfortunately becoming a parent doesn't necessarily make you good at it.

maroonedwithfour · 20/04/2015 18:34

There is another thread about this.

DoTheDuckFace · 20/04/2015 18:40

I actually can believe that is allowed to happen. What is to stop him abusing them during the day or his wife turning a blind eye. Seriously someone needs sacking for sanctioning this.

emotionsecho · 20/04/2015 18:41

I don't want to believe this, it's just so, so wrong.

Justusemyname · 20/04/2015 18:42

She's actually married the evil man.

IfYouWereARiverIdLearnToFloat · 20/04/2015 18:45

I don't understand why they think a woman who brings a convicted paedophile into her bed would make any attempts to stop him abusing her children even if he did wake her up climbing over her in the middle of the night to get to them.

There are actually no words for how disturbing this is.

SomethingToTalkAbout · 20/04/2015 18:47

I mean, aside from the one obvious risk, what if there is a fire?

FenellaFellorick · 20/04/2015 19:25

I am shocked that ss could possibly consider this acceptable.
Are services THAT short of money that they are willing to allow this rather than act?

I would not trust a woman who is willing to have a relationship with a paedophile to keep her children safe.
Why would a paedophile marry a woman with young daughters? Hmm let me think...

She's made her choice. She chose a paedophile. I think that demonstrates she is not a fit parent. I would like to know why social services have not taken those children. I cannot believe they do not consider that she may facilitate abuse. Oh I chose to marry a pervert but let me keep my kids who are his target group and i'll keep them locked up.
There are not enough WTFs in the world.

RosesareSublime · 21/04/2015 22:08

Astounding, horror awful, what a life for the two girls ? Telling friends they have to be locked up due to step dad, for gods sake, cant bring friends home, and YES as if abuse only happens at night, astounding.

Yes Fenella, not enough WTF in the world.

I hope the article has sparked some re thinking there and local out rage.

RosesareSublime · 21/04/2015 22:10

Also shouldn't the peadophile be the one who is locked in his room at night, not the girls Angry

AyeAmarok · 21/04/2015 22:27

Has she only just married this guy?

And yes exactly! It should be him that's locked in a room! With the mother, if she's that desperate.

Agree with a PP that if the mother is this far gone that she thinks this is reasonable, then she more than likely would passively stand by and let her daughters be abused by him.
