Should women have the right to make an informed choice about who is examining and treating them? King's say no ... What do you think?

Given that he isn't performing surgery, the question should be would you prefer to have the test for cancer done now or later on by someone else who is being pressured to do extra because the waiting times are stretching out?

If his current role is such that he is unlikely to harm patients surely its better to utilise this expensive resource rather than waste all that training.

Interesting point because none of us like to wait, especially when we are anxious about our health. But you're missing the point ... if he hadn't been given the job someone else, more suitable, would have been, so waiting times wouldn't be affected. "unlikely to harm" is not good enough for me or my daughters, sister, niece or any other women. If you research what concerns have been raised about this surgeon you might appreciate - seeing someone quick does not always give the quickest outcome - it's about informed choice and not being unwittingly exposed to someone who is currently under investigation for numerous concerns which have yet to be fully investigated.

The gmc look after their own.

They don't even automatically expel doctors convicted of sexually abusing their patients!
