Saw

Just read an article on bbc.co.uk about staff at a UK cinema having to call emergency services three times in one night because of a spate of people passing out during horror film Saw III.

Am I totally missing the point here but why go and see these kinds of films if you're squeamish? Even the ads on the buses make me cringe so I know I would faint before even the opening credits have started.

Also, what kind of person goes to watch a film where the only synopsis is that people are tortured to death in extremely gruesome and graphic ways?

Just don't understand this myself and wouldn't ever want to watch something so unrelentingly foul. Remember being very surprised in Sainsbury's once when a mum allowed her child (about 10) to buy Saw. Can only assume she had no idea what it was about - but then, what mother lets her child buy a dvd without knowing that it's appropriate??

I've seen Saw & Saw 2 (pardon the expression). They're OK - v violent & gory, but I wouldn't nominate them for an Oscar!

Also saw Hostel the other day. V V disturbing film with loads of gratuitous naked females (besides all the violence)

i think saw 1+2 are great and i cant wait to see the 3rd! theres no way i'd let anybody under 18 watch them though.
i dont understand why somebody would pass out, though.i only watch films like that as i have a stomach of steel(when im not pregnant)and can accept that they are only films and its only special effects, not real.
really cant wait to see it now and see what all the fuss is about
