Poor girl...where IS she??

I guess it's really no harder to understand than someone committing the crime in the first place. :(

UpMyOwnArseMoneyFlinger · 06/03/2015 20:49

I find it harder to understand, tbh. Assuming the murderer killed someone in a fit of madness or uncontrollable or temper or something like that (and it wasn't a pre-planned thing) then the people covering up are cold-heartedly excusing what the killer did.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 06/03/2015 21:01

Whilst the fact she has been murdered is utterly shocking and upsetting, the aftermath just does not bear thinking about. What they have done to her, after her death, chills me to the core and I could not imagine what her parents are going through.

VueBee · 06/03/2015 21:03

Actually. Soup, it is much harder to understand. Suppose you know, or even suspect, that a friend of yours has committed a truly horrible crime (such as murder his 16 year old step-sister). You have 3 options:

  1. Persuade your friend to go to the Police, or go to them yourself (99% of us).
  1. Do nothing, pretend you know nothing (0.99% of us).
  1. Help your friend dispose of the body (0.01%).

The original crime was probably committed in a moment of madness, maybe a reaction to the rebuff of a mis-judged sexual advance, that sort of thing: I doubt anyone actually planned to kill this poor child.

But anyone helping to conceal the crime must have done so "in cold blood", having considered and rejected the thought of taking any other course of action. There is an evil in that which might possibly have been lacking in the original crime.

I can just about imagine killing someone in the direst of circumstances (ie to protect DC from attack); but to hack up a child's body, just to protect a mate from bother? No -u-k-n- way!! Angry, Sad, Flowers & then some...

JohnFarleysRuskin · 06/03/2015 21:06

Yes, hard enough to accept a nutcase murderer- but then four separate people would go out of their way to get involved and protect him?!?! Staggering. :(

SoupDragon · 06/03/2015 21:27

So there are 5 nutcase rather than 1. I don't find either harder to understand than the other.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 06/03/2015 21:28

It's all awful.

SoupDragon · 06/03/2015 21:29

Actually. Soup, it is much harder to understand.

For you. Not me.

26Point2Miles · 06/03/2015 21:30

They must have all (6 of them?) had intense conversations about it. I can't imagine that. What was her stepbrothers motive? Why is he so special they felt he was worth all this?

passmethewineplease · 06/03/2015 22:15

And most of these people have their own children?! I feel for those litttle ones.

:(

How and why did this happen? Her poor family.

UpMyOwnArseMoneyFlinger · 06/03/2015 22:23

I think its extra hideous that so many were involved, rather than a lone psychopath.

JoanHicksonMIfive · 06/03/2015 22:33

I agree a step sibling and so many involved is dreadful.

fromparistoberlin73 · 07/03/2015 18:10

I am hoping it was an accident/fight gone wrong- and a fast death. And a not so courageous cover up. I find it beleive that sadistic psycopaths would have just lived day to day as they did.

Its a terrible loss either way, and either way their family is broken

Just awful, rest in peace rebecca Flowers

fixedit · 07/03/2015 19:03

The Facebook page of the local paper is horrendous to read, obviously people know the accused etc and so many rumours etc flying around. Poor poor family.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 07/03/2015 19:07

Even if her death was an accident, it takes a special kind of evil to then chop the body up afterwards.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 07/03/2015 19:13

Given what happened after, its very very unlikely it was an accident.

fixedit · 07/03/2015 19:19

I do wonder why all the people involved are so prepared to help the step brother.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 07/03/2015 19:22

Mm. Whatever the reason, money? fear? boredom? loyalty? they need to go to prison for a very very long time.

fixedit · 07/03/2015 19:28

I assume fear, I hope fear. Or that they had a party and something happened and they were all there and he woyldve said they were all implicated so help me or were all off to prison.

APlaceInTheWinter · 07/03/2015 21:36

I just assumed they must have all been there so they felt responsible and were frightened of going to jail. I really can't imagine how they would have been persuaded to get involved otherwise.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 08/03/2015 11:16

If this results in a trial, I feel for the Jury.

JoanHicksonMIfive · 08/03/2015 11:22

I think it will go to trial after reading the DM article.

gazzalw · 09/03/2015 07:10

There will probably some issue of the step-brother having a 'hold' on the others in some way

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 09/03/2015 09:10

Yes I had read some of the comments on the local paper's FB page...I'm surprised any comments are allowed, to be honest... Sad

JoanHicksonMIfive · 09/03/2015 09:14

I read the fb page of the gf, it should be taken down if it hasn't already. It gives insight to the relationship between her and the step brother.
