Boy critical after football incident

A teenage boy was injured in an incident on Monday at a school in Enniskillen, he was critcal but I believe life support has now been removed.

My son was taken by ambulance from school after sustaining serious injuries in a break time kickabout last year, now I think he was lucky.

No idea how the injuries were caused on Monday to Oisin McGrath but what is going on in children's football these days? It is supposed to be a fun, healthy activity.

After my own experience I can imagine what his parents must have felt initially but not what they feel now, having lost their son at such a young age, at school, where you believe your child is safe.

Does anyone know anything else about what happened?

From Google it sounds like he was possibly assaulted by an older pupil. :(

I had read that a water bottle was thrown at him ans hit is head.
No matter what happened its a terrible tragedy for his family. Very sad.

This report said he was playing football so I assumed it was football related. If the reports about a bottle are correct then it was not football related.

Football is still 'a fun, healthy activity' don't worry!
