I hope today's verdict brings her family some peace.

The motives of her killer are impossible to fathom Sad

how could anyone, his friends, their parents, know he would actually carry through this threat. enough of blaming anyone but him Angry

R4 - nobody could have known but the boy had been acting vety strangely and his behaviour should have been taken seriously. Looking into his behaviour, if it had been flagged in the run up may have prevented it.

i have to hmm at the idea that some how the other pupils are some how to blame.
I doubt very much if they would have been listened to any way.
but blaming them is vile.
there is only one person to blame, the lad that did it.

BobPatandIgglePiggle · 05/11/2014 10:30

The other students are definitely not to blame.

Blaming the other CHILDREN who witnessed this horrific murder has upset me tremendously. I am still incensed at those comments.
They are only children. I'm a teacher and I can't even bring myself to think about what happened in that classroom.

You have absolutely no idea what he said to other pupils and what they thought ... That is why when he had the knife and showed it just before he stabbed her no one reported it. Besides the death of Ann which is a truly tragic thing that has affected her family terribly but this has had a huge impact on the children who witnessed it and the children in the other classroom when he returned to that room. These children are traumatised by it they can't understand it they all have had guilty feelings about the what ifs. I know the school and I know and have spoken to some of the children involved no one would ever had expected this to happen and if you put that lad in a line and said who would be a troublemaker etc he would be nearly last in that line. The trauma of this tragic murder has impacted hugely on the staff too and they have done a remarkable job of holding it together and through their strength they have helped the pupils. It's quite chilling also to know that he harboured the fact he wanted to kill the unborn baby of mrs xxxxx and she had to deal with that too. No one can turn back time and no one could see into the future because if that was the case this tragedy would never have happened.

And for those children that might have had to be called as witness although there was a high chance there wouldn't be a trial I feel for them. It was a very tough day for them, they have had this hanging over them for a long time and it is going to take time for them to come to terms with all of it

May the funny loving caring with a wicked sense of humour the mother of the school r.i.p. Ann Maguire
