She has been released and has therefore served her time and is a free woman.

I would have liked her to have been incarcerated forever, however she hasn't been.

She isn't going to be given surgery to alter her appearance so will be recognised. I'm not sure about her changing her name, perhaps she will do so voluntarily.

How do you feel about someone like this who should now be treated no different from any member of society?

Could you work alongside her? If she was your neighbour would you say good morning?

I would work along side her and say hello, she is a human being and as you say has done her time. I would not go any further than that though. Her case was public, you could be working along side and living next door to people who are just as bad and never know, like Shoesmith for instance.

There were lengthy threads about this a few weeks ago.

I'm not sure how anyone can say that Sharon Shoesmith is "just as bad" as Tracey Connelly. Shoesmith was (apparently) incompetent at her job, but she did not stand by and allow her boyfriend and his family to torture and sexually assault her kids.

I think at best she is irretrievably damaged and at worst is a vile and disgusting human being.

No, I would not treat her as I woukd anyone else. I woukd not verbally abuse her or attack her but I would not work with her, I would not serve her in a shop and I would not speak to her.

She hasn't had a good life in terms of personal and family relationships.

Many people have dreadful childhoods but go on to lead productive adult lives. Some, like Tracey perpetuate the cycle of abuse.

I am asking how people feel about someone who has served their time for their involvement of a horrific crime.

I would speak to her but I don't think I could be anything more than civil. Maybe that makes me in the wrong.

Shoesmith is not "just as bad". The council are paying the price of sacking her without going through the rift channels to do so.....serves them right.

As for TC, I wouldn't know her if I bumped into her and yes if she was my neighbour I would say Good morning ....that's just me though.

And there is a separate section for media requests......and you are obviously a journalist.

Why are not threads about Jason Baker or Jason Owen. I believe that Jason Baker has also been released. The men have not been vilified to extent that Tracey Conelly has. There is a tenancy for the public to be far harsher to abusive mothers than abusive fathers.

Frankly I feel that Peter Conelly's natural father should shoulder some of the blame as well. Invariably an absent father comes out of the woodwork in these abuse cases being "heartbroken", yet they never went near the poor child.

This is the news section and I read this morning that Tracey Connelly has been released and it got me thinking what would it be like to work or live next door to someone 'infamous'.

I wouldnt know it was her tbh, I say good morning to all my neighbours, I dont know their backgrounds really. So I would treat her no different.

If shes been released then I guess there has been a parole board, I suspect also shell be recieving some sort of help` by probation. You have to put your trust in them that they believe shes ready to be realeased.

I don't think that I would recognise her but if I did I can't say that I could bring myself to talk to her no. What she did was appalling and no I wouldn't speak to the partner or real father either. I wouldn't say anything negative though either.

I would ignore her I'm sorry if sounds harsh but I really don't have the time of day for her.

Baby ps father wasn't an absent father he reported her to ss for suspected abuse and he tried refusing to give baby p back to TC
