From SKY breaking news

This could have interesting implications on the situation, watch the US Forces brag about their skill on getting such a prized head, wonder wh many other people were killed in the raid...

Abu Musab al Zarqawi has been killed in a US air raid in Baghdad, according to reports.

Zarqawi was al Qaeda's leader in Iraq and was behind the wave of insurgency in which thousands of people have been killed.

Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al Maliki is expected to confirm Zarqawi's death at a press conference shortly.

He will be joined by the United States' top commander in Iraq, General George Casey.

He is a major scalp thouigh , leader of Al Qaeda ops in Iraq, add to that the Saudi claims that they have crushed the AQ network in Saudi now.
It could heap the pressure on forcing them to hit softer Western and African targets one could presume.
I sure hope not.
I cannot see an end at all, it is very scary tbh

Shit. Now there will be massive reprisals...Glad I'm not visiting the US in the near future.

OK, so they finally got him. But I'll be willing to bet there are at least 10 others just desperate to jump into his shoes.

Yep, they are a very well organised network.
Its like gremlins, the more you kill, the more you inspire.

But Zaqawi was different - more organised and knew how to play the media. I think it is a good thing that he is out of the equation.

Good riddance, Zarqawi. And congratulations to the fine men and women who achieved this mission.

job well done. they had someone on the radio earlier saying that he should have stood trial. personally I think that blowing the bastard away is far better, why give him a chance to stand up and cry marter. he's scum, and the world is a better place without him.

There will always be another person to step into this mans shoes, this is not ONE person against the world, it is an idealism/religious thing sadly.

The killing will go on and on and on, thousands more innocent civilians will die and we will continue to see bodies paraded on television as we did tonight, on both "sides".
