Poor woman, I think we can all sympathise with her, she must be desperately worried.

bundle · 12/04/2006 14:50

absolutely. can't believe people (nannies included) don't strap their children into highchairs though.

oh no

Hope they don't start charging people, accidents can happen

poor nanny if it was an accident

cupcakes · 12/04/2006 14:51

I read that the family services had vivited her as an ending to the taking him in car without being strapped in episode, not because he'd been in hospital.

nothercules · 12/04/2006 14:53

Imagine if all our mistakes as parents became headline news! Shock

I don't strap DD in the highchair - as it was DS's from 6 years ago and I can't find the straps and haven't got round to buying some new ones. But I don't leave her alone either. Good reminder. Poor girl, in fact all concerned.

HappyMumof2 · 12/04/2006 15:31

my dd fell out her highchair (was strapped in but un strappe herself) but she was around 15mths at the time.

I'm surprised that the baby wasn't strapped in. Can't actually imagine a 7mth old falling out of a highchair??

bundle · 12/04/2006 15:32

always had straps on dd's chair so they fastened at the back, impossible to undo herself

hope that was the full story - cant believe a nanny would not report an accident!

bitsamaloney · 12/04/2006 17:31

"According to a report in next week's Star magazine, Sean Preston fell out of his highchair on April 1st but his parents didn't take him to hospital until April 7 after noticing that he was sleeping more than usual."

HappyMumof2 · 12/04/2006 20:16
Shock
calebsmum · 12/04/2006 22:18

Yeah he fractured his skull and they waited 6 days before getting him checking out when they noticed he was crying lots and seemed sleepy.

WestCountryLass · 12/04/2006 22:26

I read that a Dr was called and did a home visit after the incident but it was 6 days before he was taken to ER.

Janh · 12/04/2006 22:29

I read that too, WCL. Give the girl a break, guys!

essbee · 12/04/2006 22:32

The report I heard (on GMTV) said that he was checked out at the time of the incident but Britney took him back 6 days later as she had become more worried as he'd suddenly become more sleepy.

Do we know if he's ok?

hulababy · 12/04/2006 22:34

Rarely used straps on DD's highchair. We never left her unsupervised (advantages of open plan living) and she wasn't the type of baby who tried to get out - she loved her food too much. Also has a Tripp Trapp and had her sat reasonably lose to the bar bit, so harder to topple out.

Poor women though :( She must be desperately worried about her baby.

Haven't heard that he isn't, essbee. The police involvement was just because of the A&E visit, I think he was actually OK from that.

PinkTulips · 12/04/2006 22:40

i'd wonder though did it really happen with the nanny in charge or did she pay the woman off to say that as she's already being investigated for the driving incidant?

oh don't get me wrong, i can't imagine she hurt her baby or anything, lord knows my dd's had a few nasty knocks, just wondering if maybe she was afraid there'd be a negative reaction and didn't want the police to get involved cosidering the driving thing so asked nanny if she'd take the blame.

HappyMumof2 · 13/04/2006 07:28

7mths is very young to fall out of a highchair imo. He would have had to have climbed up or maybe fallen through the strap underneath.

I don't think she's that great tbh. She rushed into getting with the father and having the baby and apparently is pregnant again. She hardly looks like she's coping.

And two incidents by the time the baby is 7mths??? too many imo.
