I do like the woman who said she moved to get away from the parents and was glad never to hear about school catchements again lol.

Obviously I could never move there with my millions of kids lol

Sounds like the retirement-ghetto-from-hell, who wants to live in any kind of ghetto anyway?

fuzzywuzzy · 08/04/2006 19:38

'no hanging washing outside'

So they all have clothes dryers??? What's wrong with a washing line then??

LOL, very observant!

schneebly · 08/04/2006 20:06

sounds dull, dull, dull!

jac34 · 08/04/2006 20:11

After the noise level in our house today, I'd love to move there on my own and leave everyone behindGrin

I think I can understand them a bit. When your children have grown up and left home,it might be nice to have a bit of peace and not have to put up with other peoples kids.

Angeliz · 08/04/2006 20:16

What a bunch of wierdos and how sad.
Not to hear children playing or see little toddlers. Think they're all bitter.

I also think it's a disgrace. I'd like to see the reactions if we had 'no pensioners villages' or 'no gays villages'.

Sad sad people!

Caligula · 09/04/2006 17:01

Or "only one gay in the village" Grin

shellybelly · 09/04/2006 19:19

reminds me of the stepford wives but only stepford couples Grin

tiredemma · 09/04/2006 19:43

what a shit place to live.

tillykins · 09/04/2006 19:47

oh I don't know, after my monster of a day...!

Think it sounds odd - they will probably be invaded by hoards of families, picnicing by the roadside, just to annoy them Grin

infact, fancy a MN day out? Wink

joelalie · 10/04/2006 13:07

Sounds horrible. Round here it's not the kids who are the problem it's the adults. Kids don't tend to have drunken rows whilst walking home from a club at 3am!!! Or drive dangerously. Or leave bags of rubbish out for a whole week when they miss the bin lorry.

It's some adults who cause a problem ...and their badly brought up children. To blame all children for problems is just stupid. I imagine that the real change is leaving behind the badly behaved adults.

I'd hate a community without kids. SadWe're already a society that resents children - it isn't true that children are accomodated more and more.....it's true that society welcomes the money that they can be made by accomodating children but that isn't the same thing.

FairyMum · 10/04/2006 13:21

How sad. It's probably for the best that these people are locked away from our children though.

speedymama · 10/04/2006 13:27

An ominous sign of how intolerant and selfish society is becomingSad. I would like to ask these people where their future undertaker is going to come from?Grin

lucykate · 10/04/2006 13:32

sounds ridiculous, no starting car engines after 9pm!. what do you do if someone needs to go to hospital?, say to them you'll have to wait until the morning as i can't start the car til then!

secur · 10/04/2006 13:33
  • could I get a condo there - just for weekends?
Grin
Nightynight · 10/04/2006 13:50

sad, unrealistic people, and the thread title says it all.

lazycow · 10/04/2006 16:44

I think they have quite a few of these communites in the U.S. For older people where there are lots of rules and no children except for the occasional visiting grandchild.

The main rule I though was hilarious actually was no starting of car engines before 7am or after 9pm. Do none of these 45+ year olds have to go to work in the morning or go out in the evening? Sounds a bit 'sanitised for me'
