Subway is due to open a unit in a Manchester comprehensive, which will only sell healthier sandwiches. The idea is to stop older pupils nipping out for junk food but what do you think?

Thanks, iklboo.
Have looked at their ingredients and soya appears rather a lot. I have therefore revised my opinion about the product, and shall be much more discerning in future. It's back to KFC for me.

Can I ask why you don't eat soya? Just nosey! I have no ishoos.

This ones not in a school but Papa Johns is proposing to open a new branch directly in-between two schools in Bristol , but they 'aren't aiming for the school crowd' Hmm

You'll get lots of people saying it is good for you, but I don't believe them. I think it is bad, on a different scale to salt or fat.

I stay away from soya as well, for various reasons it is not healthy imo.

Remotecontrolduck · 24/07/2012 19:04

It says 'sixth form college', so assuming the students are all 16+ and can go out for lunch anyway? Surely at that age they can decide what's good for them or not.

Thanks claig. We don't tend to eat much soya. We've heard it's not the superfood some sources say it us. Think i'll start to look out for it in foods. Might make a small exception for Hangover Tub o' Balls. Grin

Yes, look out for it in food. It is absolutely everywhere. It is very difficult to find a loaf of bread without it. I now buy pitta bread, as some males of that don't have any soya. That's about the only bread that doesn't have it, that I have found.

Just googled, and there is an MN thread about bread without soya.

Apparently Tesco do one, but I have never found it when checking labels in Tescos, and M&S do one. Will head for M&S.

subway is worse than KFC because it is LESS healthy but people THINK its MORE healthy. So it's far more dangerous!
