I read that earlier. I'd be fuming if I was her mum. In fact I'd be fuming if the teacher did that to my DC regardless. Far far too harsh treatment of a 5 year old Sad

Jessicaalbastwin · 27/01/2012 11:30

Sad horrible.

lisaro · 27/01/2012 19:00

This angers me! Why did that BITCH (yes - I said that) go into teaching? To get a kick from belittling children? I'm actually fucking appalled the LA are not following this up. Can you tell I'm angry?
her parents must be so proud of that beautiful little girl - how can anyone do that?

FannyFifer · 27/01/2012 19:04

That's bloody awful, The poor little pet.

GrimmaTheNome · 27/01/2012 19:07

That's appalling. I've never heard of a school child being treated like this - its not as though its an uncommon occurrence in an infants' school - and to do that to this particular little girl is unbelievable.

alemci · 27/01/2012 19:12

that's horrible. poor little girl.

Vile vile creature, poor girl and poor parents.

SaggyHairyArse · 29/01/2012 13:20

I feel so badly for that little girl and her family. I would be removing my child from the school and finding another one that has a more nurturing ethos whilst also going down with all guns blazing. It sounds as though the 'investigation' was a smoke screen to fob the parents off and was not transparent; the parents certainly do not feel informed by the outcome.

My eldest has chronic constipation at the same age and the first school he went to would not help him (if he did go to the toilet whilst he was there) and would often leave him in soiled clothes because of faecal leakage (despite me sending clothes, wipes etc and even telling them to call me as I would have gone in and sorted him out). After trying to 'work with the school' for sometime in the end I moved him to another school and, funnily enough, his constipation problems cleared up pretty much over night. I realise that this little girls problems may not resolve themselves but a) she should not have had to clear up (what about the other children, you can't expect a 5 year old to clear up bodily fluids thoroughly (bless her)), b) being left in wet clothes is just degrading and wrong and c) why was she then punished (I actually don't know many schools that still use the stand and face the wall punishment)?

I hope the staff and governors of that school reflect on their tag line "We are proud of our school"....

"However, a spokesman for the education authority said: 'We are not going to investigate the matter.
'We have spoken to the acting head teacher, and the school has apologised to the parents and has taken action to make sure it doesn?t happen again.'"

This seems very strange. I would have thought that a teacher who did this would be sacked or something? It's just not how things are done these days.

I think I agree with reality.

This is a dilemma as to which side to take.

On the one hand, the parent called her child 'Liberty Rose'.
But on the other, the school has a sign in Comic Sans.

thekidsrule · 30/01/2012 17:53

poor little girl, cant believe a primary school could behave like this
