I know advertisers pulled out including Asda, Tesco etc... but why are they and other supermarkets and retailers (WH Smith, McColls, Sainsbury etc) still selling the paper tomorrow...

Is it because they will make a profit ?

And why isnt there a call to boycott buying it ?

There is a call to boycott buying it.

They have said that the advertising space will be given to charities and the profits will go to charity so I guess that is why shops are willing to leave it to customers to decide.

At the end of the day the retailers aren't to blame for what has happened and if people want to buy it they will.

I think that they have said that the proceeds will go to 'good causes' - maybe that is part of it. I expect thay given that the paper is closing people arent massively interested in boycotting the final issue.

I'm thinking of buying it. Not someone who normally buys the paper but the proceeds aren't going to NI and, after 150+ years of being part of British culture, I'd quite like the last edition as a kind of morbid souvenir. Boycotts are a little futile, I think, given that the paper is closing.

They dont make profit off newspapers they just increase footfall and hopefully the person popping in for the paper will buy other things. It seems a bit pointless to boycott it now since they have pulled it and aren't making profit on the last edition. However I won't be buying it and think there should be calls to boycott the sun and the times now.
