had completely forgotten he was still hanging around in his box - then saw this which i think is a bit grim. I mean it's really sad about his mother but sounds like he's going a bit doolally!

God, find the singing "Imagine" a little crap. "Iamgine theres no heaven"....!

He still looks pretty chunky.

WSM · 10/10/2003 10:45

Sorry but I also heard that his mother committed suicide, she was a russian gypsy who he'd never met and also that she abandoned him at 6 years old. All of these were reported to have come atraight from the horses mouth so to speak. I am very cynical about him, I think he is a total fantasist.

codswallop · 10/10/2003 10:48

I lollled at the Prog about him last week when they ahad all the Americans saying how they admired him bla bla and the British just said he was a self absorbed tosser!!

singingmum · 10/10/2003 11:30

Have to agree with the rest of the brit public. How can this man call himself an illusionist. The only illusion I can see is his'no food'drip.Just a child who needs attention methinks.

"Later, London art student Joe Dixon took his clothes off and paraded in front of the compound."

Rhubarb · 10/10/2003 13:27

Why can't he do russian roulette? Who'd be there to load the gun? Me! Me! Me! Heck I'd even close my eyes when I loaded it just to make it more exciting!

Clarinet60 · 18/10/2003 16:24

Well, I like him, but I can see I'm in a minority of one. I've been watching his TV shows for some years and I admire him, but don't want to get into an argument about it. It's like so-called modern art - either you get it or you don't.

Mingles · 18/10/2003 16:31

If his stunt was inspired by his mothers death through cancer, presumably all the proceeds are going to a cancer charity of some sort????
I'm not sure I see his point, people are starving all over the world etc. etc.

lou33 · 18/10/2003 16:35

Lol@Rhubarb. He's nice to look at though.

Angiel · 18/10/2003 18:32

I'm amazed that I keep reading that loads of you think he's attractive. LOL. I think he's totally freaky, those big stary eyes would totally do my head in.

I still can't see the point in this starvation thing. Is he actually raising any money for charity?

lou33 · 18/10/2003 18:55

Need I say more?!

Angiel · 18/10/2003 19:31

LOL Lou. Someone needs to tell him to stop sucking his belly in and pull his trousers up!

lou33 · 18/10/2003 20:40

I wouldn't mind looking at what he's looking at.

Angiel · 18/10/2003 20:55

OMG LOL. His feet??

3GirlsMum · 18/10/2003 22:08

I think he finds "ordinary" life boring and likes to push himself to the limit. At the end of the day he is harming noone but himself and I do admire that he will test himself to this extent although at the same time have to question his sanity!

tamum · 20/10/2003 16:28

Just thought some of you might find this amusing if you haven't seen it already, it's the Lego David Blaine

He must have been so pissed off that he chose to come out the same day Tony Blair had a heart scare so got completely pushed out of the top news slots...

... I'm trying to be sympathetic to Mr Blaine, I really am ...

snigger

ThomCat · 20/10/2003 17:54

When I went to legoland last week they have a miniture Europe made of lego and in the London scene they had Tower Bridge and had included david Blaine in his box complete with film crew and ambulance etc etc - v funny!

musica · 20/10/2003 18:27

I actually found the moment he came out of the box embarrassing and humiliating for the ambulance crews. I know he was going to a private hospital, but still, the ambulance men and doctors are professionals dedicated to lifesaving, and to have to tend to this nutter I thought was humiliating. I actually think he enjoyed the treatment - i.e. the stretcher, the oxygen, the attention - maybe that was the whole object of the exercise.

((Sense of humour failure today!))

lou33 · 20/10/2003 18:31

Seeing him blubbering away on the telly put me right off him.
