I can only see this as a more expensive version of ready made formula.

If the water is heated correctly I cannot see the problem. These machines will not doubt be very expensive and unlikely many of us would bother to purchase.

I am with triggles on this.

How can it possibly heat the water to the 70degrees needed to kill harmful bacteria but still be ready to drink immediately.

My son had salmonella poisoning whe he was 5 mths old. I would certainly not risk this.

Oh, and to be clear - my son was ff and not yet weaned. It was not proven at the time that it was the formula (as no one told me it was a risk to make up bottles with cooler than 70degrees water) but it could nothave bee anything else.

All I want is a generic version of formula in plain packaging that costs exactly what it costs, sold via the NHS. Hell, even a supermarket "essentials" version. They're all pretty much the same, anyway - have to be by law, as I understand it. That way mothers with no options (and yes, we do exist - I expressed for 8 months, exclusively, before he was put on formula, and I did not do that for shits and giggles) aren't putting cash in formula companies' coffers, and nor would we be ripped off. It's horrible giving your baby formula when you wanted to bf. It feels worse knowing you are paying for the sodding ads, too.

And buying a stupid machine is buying problems when you've got 'em for free. The best way to ff is using premade cartons, because they ARE sterile and there's no wait/faff.
