OK we all know that most of our MP's are completely out of touch with public opinion but do you agree with this article where Blair accuses them of being out of touch with public opinion on the terror threat?

For me - I think (for once) the MP's have got it right.

Lets not forget the original Terrorism Act was brought in to (supposedly) stop a terrorist attack in the UK.

So far it's failed, miserably. We had July 7th, and nearly another major one 2 weeks later - which failed - but not because of the police - but because the bombs failed to detonate.

The first version of the Act was rushed through after Sept 11th.

These amendents and whatever else it is they're adding are being added after July 7th....

Why??? IMO because they want to be seen to be doing something.

IMO most of the real security work is done without holding people for 90's (not really much difference between us and the US Guatamano Bay anyone....... if we'd gone ahead with it) stories like this are probably were many of the real 'leads' come from.
