Startrite Healthy Little Feet Campaign

I received this email today to join the campaign for Healthy Little Feet and it started me thinking - why are 50% of kids at risk of developing feet problem due to ill fitting shoes and my only answer is - kids shoes are so ridiculously expensive.

So whilst I am all for kids having healthy feet I think the we need a campaign to reduce the price of said shoes!

And I know you can get cheap shoes from supermarkets etc but I tell you every pair I have ever bought from a supermarket has hurt my daughters feet. She is now 4 and I would say I have tried at least 8 or 9 pairs of cheaper shoes from various retailers like Sainsbury, Next and M&S and not one pair has she ever worn. (With the exception of cheap Uggs).

Anyone else sick of paying £30-40 for kids shoes?

i just got back from dropping dd at school (she's 8) and was walking behind a girl dd said was in year 5 (guess she is 10) who was tottering along in high heeled black shoes, skinny little girl too, young looking. all the kids had non uniform on as red nose day but this kid was all dressed in black (irrelevant, i don't care) but the shoes, high bloody heels and she couldn't walk in them, it wasn't disco day ffs. poor kid, she'll have bunions by the time she is 12

who says 50% of kids are at risk of foot problems because of shoes? Do you have a source for this?
