Seeing as we're all anonymous on here I thought I'd take the opportunity to ask everyone what their views were on the current child protection processes in the UK.
It's in the media constantly now with facebook pages campaigning about serious abuses of power by social workers and cases being highlighted like the one on the panorama programme and story of the young girl with mild learning difficulties:

www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00tlczw/Panorama_Please_Dont_Take_Our_Child/
This obviously affects us all as children can be taken under the category of "emotional abuse" which can cover literally anything social workers want it to. With resources being wasted pursuing innocent families, we end up with tragedies like Baby P, Victoria Climbie etc.
I took an interest in this subject when one of my friends had her child taken-or as we all say "legally kidnapped". Luckily she got him back (proving there was no reason for concern) but it has bankrupted and destroyed the family adding to the "broken britain" politicians go on about.
What are your views? Have you experienced this yourself or known someone who has? What do you think needs to change?
