hope he goes to jail and it's a shame he couldn't have it done to him. this has really upset me.

I just read that and found it upsetting.
My dd wets the bed and it wouldn't occur to me to even tell her off for it never mind do what this man animal did.

I shant click on the link to the daily mail load but thanks for letting everyone see it is a daily wail article before they click on the psot and send the numebrs of hits on the website high Grin

thisisyesterday · 27/09/2010 15:52

thank god someone called the police and the child is in care. i hope he gets someone nicer to look after him now

booyhoo · 27/09/2010 15:53

that is disgusting. why on earth to people like that have children, he clearly doesn't like them. oh god i feel so angry for that little boy. how terrified must he have been and what else was going on behind closed doors iff th edad was happy to do that in public.

booyhoo · 27/09/2010 15:54

just noticed that the witness said it was a 90 minute attack, why did she let it go on for 90 minutes?? why didn't she ring the police straight away.

diddl · 28/09/2010 07:59

Maybe she didn´t cathch the beginning of it or that´s how long it took police to get there?

At least she called the police-I certainly wouldn´t have tackled him I´m afraid.

No wonder the poor little sod wets the bed with a father like that.

anonymousbird · 28/09/2010 08:09

How come the police weren't there for 90 minutes???

That makes me very Sad.

diddl · 28/09/2010 08:17

"How come the police weren't there for 90 minutes???"

Because the hosing was well under way before they were called?

booyhoo · 28/09/2010 09:26

i just don't understand how they would know it had gone on for 90 minutes. I'm sure an 8 year old would have no concept of how long he was subjected to that, it must have felt like a lifetime, and i would be surprised if the dad confessed how long it went on. so someone knew when it started yet it went on for a further 90 minutes. i don't get that.

The way I read it, the 90 minute ordeal started with the boy being hosed down with the freezing water, and continued with him being left in the garden, shivering and blue with cold. They know the time frame because a passing motorist saw the child being hosed down and called the police, and the time of that report, plus the time that the police will have reported being in attendance, will allow them to say how long the ordeal was.

booyhoo · 28/09/2010 09:42

why the hell did it take the police that long to get there?? jesus, it doesn't bear to think of what could have happened in the 90 minutes they weren't there.

Curiousmama · 28/09/2010 09:46

Sad and happy at the same time as his ordeal is now over and he'll hopefully be properly cared for. Ds2 still wets occasionally and he's 10 and agree I've never told him off. So glad this bastard is getting what's due to him.

Greensleeves · 28/09/2010 09:49

horrible man

my mother used to give me a freezing cold bath while screaming at me for wetting the bed

among other things, eg making me sleep on the floor in a sleeping bag next to the bed, because I was a dirty little sod who didn't deserve to sleep in a bed

both my boys have been slow to be dry at night and I cannot imagine what frame of mind you would have to be in to treat a child like that

booyhoo · 28/09/2010 09:57

it is awful that such a natural childhood thing is treated like something to be ashamed of. my mum used to be made to sleep in the bath when she wet the bed as a child. it really is no wonder she kept wetting.

Curiousmama · 28/09/2010 10:03

Greensleeves Sad Are you still in touch with her? Really sorry you went through that.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 28/09/2010 10:39

That is a very good question, booyhoo. I'm also wondering whether the ambulance should also have been called - they could have wrapped the child up and warmed him up a bit - though I suppose then his father would have come out and it could all have got nasty.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 28/09/2010 10:40

And my ds wet the bed into his teens - he was dry at night for ages, then suddenly went backwards again at the age of 9 - it was a very difficult few years, and frustrating, but there is no way I would have dreamt of punishing him for it.

booyhoo · 28/09/2010 10:48

good point SDTG, an ambulance would have been necessary for such an assault. he could have been hypothermic and most definitely in shock.

OrmRenewed · 28/09/2010 10:49

What a shit! Angry

booyhoo · 28/09/2010 10:51

i was lucky that ds1 only wet a couple of times when he was moving from nappies to pants at night. i know if he started wetting again now or had continued wetting i would be worried about him, i wouldn't dream of punishing him for it.
