Here. He spent just six days in jail, and is now back on full pay.

I wonder what his grounds for appeal are? He must have a bloody good legal team.

Good grief.

He is suspended on full pay until internal disciplinary procedures and the criminal appeal are heard.

It would be standard procedure in any job to be on full pay until internal disciplinary procedures are completed.

But what I don't understand is why the internal investigation has not yet been completed as this incident happened in July 2008?

At least this nasty bully is not still on duty.

I am not surprised. I have no respect for the police at all. The things I have saw will never make me change my mind. They are thugs and bullies on power trips

DancingHippoOnAcid · 17/09/2010 09:50

I agree conkie. Unfortunately a lot of the people who want to join the police force are precisely the type of power-trippers who should never be let near it!

The main problem seems to lie with those in the highest positions. The few ordinary police who try to help people actually get into trouble with their superiors who are only concerned with covering their arses and treating normal people like scum.

GypsyMoth · 17/09/2010 09:52

er,hello....we are NOT ALL LIKE THAT!!

please dont generalise...

DancingHippoOnAcid · 17/09/2010 09:55

I'm speaking from personal experience, dragonfly, and I know not all the police are like that. But I have found that the good ones are actually hindered by their superiors, which is really worrying.

Wow! I thought it had just happened last week when I saw it on the news. I do not understand at all how this has not yet been sorted. When did he do his 6 days jail, 2years ago as well or more recently? Has he only been suspended now (which would mean he was still on duty for the last 2 years) or has been suspended for the last two years?

DancingHippoOnAcid · 17/09/2010 10:00

Has probably been suspended on full pay since the original complaint, I would think. Though not clear from article.

Though article does say that he was not paid while he was in prison.

TheCrackFox · 17/09/2010 10:15

Wow, he has lost a whole 6 days pay. Hmm That's him told then.

stillbobbysgirl · 17/09/2010 10:21

He'll be sacked with full pension I'd bet. Coppers do seem to be above the law again and again, speeding, violence etc etc. Is it too much to expect they are treated the same as the rest of us?

scurryfunge · 17/09/2010 12:05

He has been treated like the rest in terms of pay and disciplinary procedures.

No one else would have got a custodial for the offence - police officers are nearly always gaoled where members of the public wouldn't be because of the position of trust they hold.
