shows my local authority area as being at 201. So basically quite deep in the shit Hmm

Just wondering what it's supposed to mean for people living here, or in any of the other big number authorities.

Should DH give up his teaching post and go back to being self-employed (after all the construction industry is having a lovely time atm Hmm)

Is this just a good way to make up all miserable or does it have a useful purpose? If so what?

Liverpool is at 287, sigh. According to local paper, nearly 48% of employed women in Liverpool are employed either by public or care sector. Happy days ahead, eh.... Maybe we should all go into the bunting cupcake sector Hmm

ty councils so mine are v varied. Mine is 78 but the next door one (2 miles away and providing most of the work) is 318(/324) which would affect my area.

nymphadora · 09/09/2010 15:47

Thanks total BTW!

nymphadora · 09/09/2010 15:49

There was part of my first post missing Hmm Was meant to say its not done by county councils but borough ones so not what I expected.

nikkershaw · 09/09/2010 15:50

ours is very low, what does it mean exactly

OrmRenewed · 09/09/2010 16:01

It means that you area is not going to be so adversely affected by cuts to the public sector - ie the local economy isn't hugely dependent on public sector jobs.

Think its a bit of a red herring for my area (and probably many others) as my area the main work is in tourism which has decreased massively.

27 here in Tunbridge Wells.

Hurrah for the heartlands!

scouserabroad · 10/09/2010 09:59

The whole area where I used to live is in the 280s... :( I guess now isn't the time to move back home!

mankyscotslass · 10/09/2010 12:27

307/324 where I am. Not a good time for me to be looking for a part time job really, is it?

fryalot · 10/09/2010 12:31

Hull - where I'm looking for work: 320 out of 324

hmmm.... p'raps I'm looking at unemployment a bit longer Hmm
