was on the news earlier

Why would you do something like that - I hope someone recognises her.

:( awful and for no reason.

mrshess · 24/08/2010 10:23

Why would someone do this????????

KiwiKat · 24/08/2010 10:32

Just saw this on FirstPost and was going to put it up - I was horrified at her pointless spite! I wonder how she treats children - really hope her identity is made public.

geordieminx · 24/08/2010 10:33

She just looks like a normal middle aged woman Hmm

ahhh now I know what the evil bitch in the wheelie bin thread will be about.

CerealOffender · 24/08/2010 10:41

would it be ok if it was hers?

geordieminx · 24/08/2010 10:44

No, not at all... but I think its more common (unfortunately) for people to try and get rid of their own cats...

It is sad and awful.

I don't know if I'm going round the twist but I'm sure the exact same thing happened in a Carson McCullers book - possibly the Heart is a Lonely Hunter. Someone pets a cat (I think it was actually a kitten in the book) and then puts it in a bin it can't get out of.

I remember being really upset by the scene in the book... horrible to think it happened in real life but very glad the poor cat is ok.

IvaNighSpare · 24/08/2010 12:50

she now needs Police Protetion because of the massive over-reaction of Rent-A-Mob who are baying for her blood, sparked by Sky News. A nice waste of public resource money....
Yes, it's sad but it happens every day. Have the news channels nothing better to report on?
Hmm

clarinette02 · 24/08/2010 14:04

Do we know the reason before judging and labelling with permanent ink? Does this women deserve justice and a chance to defend herself? Her online reputation has gone too far to stop it. See here: clarinettesblog.wordpress.com/2010/08/24/229/

franke · 24/08/2010 14:49

But have you seen the film of her actually doing it? I was shocked. Poor cat.

potplant · 24/08/2010 16:16

I heard about this on the news so just went to watch it on You Tube. Its unbelievable.

I would like to hear her side of the story, but my first thought is that she's a complete nutter.

Rob1n · 25/08/2010 09:50

I know what it looks like but what if this woman was...

  • putting the cat in the bin because some kids were firing pellets at?
  • putting the cat in the bin because it had just eaten her beloved canary?
  • putting the cat in the bin to save it from a nasty dog chasing it down the street?

The point I'm making is that we have seen a small clip of a video and automatically think we know what has occurred out of any number of scenarios.

ShinyAndNew · 25/08/2010 09:52

Rob1n, in any of those cases surely the sensible and humane thing would be to take the cat to it's owners/a nearby house? Not a bin ffs.

ShinyAndNew · 25/08/2010 09:57

Actually Sky News say she told the police she did it "As a joke" because she "thought it would be funny" and she doesn't know what all the fuss is about "It's only a cat" Hmm Angry

ThatVikRinA22 · 25/08/2010 10:03

id not waste resources on giving her police protection. she chose to do it and she got filmed. tough tits - now she should face the music. stupid cow.

LaraJade · 25/08/2010 16:00

I think she should definitely be prosecuted to set an example to others - deliberate cruelty to animals, children and old people is evil. That poor cat lay in its own urine for 15 hours and must have suffered so much.

wahwahwah · 25/08/2010 16:02

What if it had been bin day? Would it have been tipped into the bin van?

What exactly is she supposed to have "misjudged"? Was she aiming for the cat flap and missed?

What a nutter.

ThatVikRinA22 · 25/08/2010 19:31

it takes a truly horrible person to do this. fair enough - some people dont like cats but you cant just 'dispose' of other peoples family pets. it could have ended up in the crusher if the owners hadnt found it. she has been interviewed by the Sun and she said "its only a cat" someone should tell her she isnt doing herself any favours.

i dont like bankers. wonder if there is a bin big enough....

Animation · 25/08/2010 20:22

Why doesn't she at leasr say I'M SORRY?

Animation · 25/08/2010 21:25

Oh, I've just read that she says she's "profoundly sorry."

She might have saved her bacon then.
