Child locks on double glazed windows

We've just moved into a brand new house, but it is rented. The windows are all double glazed (but I still miss my big regency sash windows ) but don't have child locks. What can I do to stop DD throwing herself out of them? We need to keep them open as it is stiflingly hot in our new (small ) house.

That's spooky, I was just now looking up for products that would solve this in our house. I've come across these in IKEA so far.

We got our from the factory which made our windows. They were only about £2 each pair. They fit onto the sides of the windows and means you can open them by about 2 inches. They are simple to unlock, so simple that 6yo dd1 can do it . Dd2 can't.

They look like a good idea. Though having made 3 trips to IKEA in the past two weeks I'm not sure if I can face it again!

A friend mentioned that the manufacturers might be able to come out and attach something. Not sure how much that would cost. The house has literally only been finished about a month so they might still do it. Can they do it retrospectively?

Yeah, they can do it retrospectively. It's what we have. They do need to be fitted by a window fitter, but it shouldn't cost much to do that as it's piss easy. My dad worked for the company who did our windows.

If it is brand new I thought it HAD to have safety locks...

Who built it?
