We have an upright vax dp bought, and it doesn't seem to work well atall, I think it is better on carpets but on wooden floors and bathroom floor just blows the dust around.

Am I using the wrong way or is it just rubbish?

I'm used to using a Henry and love it.

We have a Vax but it is a cylinder with a brush on the end of the tube That's fantastic. All our floors are wooden. We've had it for donkey's years and no trouble. Are uprights meant to be used on wooden floors?

does it have an adjustable level for wooden floors?

Yes. It's not sophisticated but we've had it for over ten years and never had any problems. It's the Vax cleaner that is an orange cylinder which can be changed into a floor washer. There is a long tube and on the end is a brush attachment. It's like brushing and hoovering at the same time. If you want to go onto carpet you press a plastic switch on the brush end and the brushes go inside. Better suction on carpet then. To improve the suction I use a permanent bag (bought online from Vax) and filters that I bang on the wall outside to clean. To do the stairs I attach small end to end of tube.

sorry just seen the reply, you can adjust it but still doesn't seem great to me. it says harder floors but doesn't say wooden floors.
