Getting mould off a wicker basket

Is it possible? Will it just keep growing if I put a lining over it, even if it is not damp anymore (not sure how the mould got there in the first place). Thanks

It's porous. I would toss it.

If not, mix a cup of borax with a cup of just boiled water and stir. Mix with a bottle of white vinegar (from the hardware store) and enough extra water in a bucket to soak the basket if possible. Scrub it down, let dry, then put it in the sun for a couple of days.

Thank you, I will try it as it is quite a nice basket.

No problem, I know too much about mould. Bleach molecules cannot penetrate porous surfaces. They can only bleach but not kill mould. Borax & vinegar can kill it. Dry mould will release spores all over your home. When it is humid or damp, they will grow.
