I'm after a condenser drier with knobs and whistles that is as energy efficient as possible, is a sensor drier and is able to have the excess water plumbed into the washing machine drainage thus meaning i don't have to empty it!

does this exist?

No. You can however get A rated condenser driers - because we have one.

You could conceivably fit a tumble drier to a grey water system though, or you could take the water from the containment unit and pour it into the cistern of your loo.

But for real energy efficiency - take a length of rope, string it between two poles.......

but but but i've read that some models can drain straight into a drain honest miss

Yes I believe you can pay £2K for one that does that. But I think you have to have them shipped from Germany.

Yes! I have a maytag from john lewis that is a condensor which comes with a long hose to plumb into the waste pipe. Maytag mtd07scfic it was about £659 from jl.

Alouiseg · 09/06/2010 21:42

I think it's a B rated as opposed to an A though.

Heathcliffscathy · 09/06/2010 21:49

ooooooo yes yes yes louise! i knew it was poss..i've just had a text from my plumber saying it should be easy to do too!

huzzah!

Have you found it on the jl site yet? I've only had mine a month and do rather love it despite the first one having to be returned as it was broken!!! V. New model and in brushed steel so v. Modern looking.

Alouiseg · 09/06/2010 21:55

I don't even see the point of the drainage hose tbh because it's so easy to empty.

Heathcliffscathy · 09/06/2010 22:14

now you see dh agrees with you, and thinks we should just empty into sink (v nearby) but i want a no work solution!

however, i also want an A rating solution.

has anyone got the bosch ecologixx7? meant to be 40% more energy efficient than other A rated driers. too new to find any reviews though.

Bosch do that awful bleep at the end of the cycle. Sooo annoying. Never again. Go Maytag, GoMaytag, go Maytag

I have an AEG, it is a B rating ( 3 years old now) but it is a sensor condenser.

You can buy the "drain kit" as an extra, think is was £15 and now it drains into the same pipe as the washing machine. They are stacked with the tumble drier on top.

It was about £400.
