Mould in wardrobes, how to get rid of it

In our bedroom we have built in wardrobes along an outside wall. There are mould spores in the wardrobes, although it's not wet/damp in any way. We've been told that it's caused by condensation, wardrobes are cold, heat doesn't get to them etc.

Today dh and I did a big declutter of the wardrobes, they are our main storage areas so there is a fair amount of stuff in them.

I've decided that one day when I have time I'll wash down the walls and then paint them with anti-fungal paint.

Does anyone know where I can buy antifungal paint? It doesn't seem to be on the Homebase or B&Q website.

Also I have read online that Dettol Antimould spray is very good, does anyone know if I could use this on the inside of a wardrobe or is it just for using in bathrooms/kitchens?

Thanks

My advice would be to clean the walls down with bleach to kill any spores and leave for a day then repect just to make sure then repeat just to be on the safe side.. then re-paint (the antifungal one sounds like a great idea)
once it is all sorted and a working wardrobe again leave a large tray of salt in there to absorb any moisture and change it when it forms lumps.
Leave the doors open everyday for a few hours to circulate the air and with your bedroom window open even better.

The perfect solution of course would be to get an air-vent fitted to the outside wall into the back of the wardrobe

Good luck

agree with micky, empty your wardrobe and get rid of the mold (including washing everything with a vinegar rinse.
after treatment dry the wardrobe.
to make sure it does*t come back as suggested leave the doors of the wardrobe open during the day and opening the windows of the room wide at least 2x a day.
at a dyi store you can get dehumidifier crystals, but they do not smell very nice...
antifungal paint and treatments are availabe at dyi stores, but they are usually only for spaces that can be well ventilated. so not sure about the wardrobe.

I can't get an air vent put into the wall as on the other side of the wall are stairs leading to the flat upstairs. There are air vents on the wardrobe doors though, supposedly to improve ventilation but they don't really work.

I do try and leave the wardrobe doors open when I can to let them air, will try and do that every day.

I'll also try the tray of salt, thanks
