cleaning computer keyboard......

what's the best way to clean my keyboard? It's got dust and biscuit crumbs and god know what else between the keys.....I've given it a good shake but it hasn't made much difference. I'd also like to give it a good de-germing with some kind of anti-bac but don't know what it's safe to use.......anyone got any tips?

i have no idea what works but my mum bought me a rubber keyboard for xmas and its brilliant, i have a tea spilling habbit but this is great, really easy to wipe with anything and crumbs cant get stuck in it!

I'll definitely be looking into a rubber keyboard! I usually just prop mine onto it's side to let the tea drain out.....

wet wipes. you could really go over the top and buy some anti mrsa ones.

flat artists brush is good for getting in the gaps

shake it and tap it upside down for ages and then unscrew the back and get rid of whatever is left inside.

I want a rubber keyboard now too

Baby wipes. They clean everything.

I bought this a while back and it works wonders. Having said that, once you get your keyboard clean, you start to notice just how quickly it gets dirty again - it gave me nightmares thinking I'd gone without cleaning my laptop keyboard for close to 3 years!!

baby wipes or dettol wipes. strech the wipes a little so you can clean with them between the keys.
I sometimes wrap the keyboard in a towel, shake and leave upside down over night.
its mostly dust with us, as we dont eat when using the computer (well dh thinks so )

i just replaced my old keyboard because I couldn't get the god-knows-what out of the old one. I then discovered just how much I had worn the old one out - the new one is all bouncy and soft and springy. And did you know, new keyboards actually have all the letters printed on all the keys? even the ones you use most often?

I use the cyber clean too, though a word of warning -sometimes it comes out of the pot a bit wet (think it may be if it's been in direct sunlight) - if it does you have to knead it a bit before you use it.

Incidentally, if you want a washable keyboard, there's one at the bottom of the page on Asana's link.
